Quotes are by Robert Frost, Paul Valery, Herman Melville, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, 'An inscription found in a guestbook of an inn in Chamonix, France,' William Shakespeare, Geoffrey Chaucer, Walt Whitman, Sir Thomas Browne, and Henry David Thoreau; and The plates are preceded by 4 pages with a title and copyright page, a brief introduction, and table of contents. The typefaces and design were by Rudolph Ruzicka, a wood engraver, etcher, illustrator, typeface designer, and book designer. The ten plates are printed by the Meriden Gravure Company and are enclosed folded sheets, with brief descriptive letterpress. Large quarto. Fine in cloth chemise, and matching slipcase. With bookplate stating "Compliments of the American Printing History Association."
