New York: artemas ward, 1916. First Edition . Hardcover. Good. Crawford Young. The Story Of The String And How It Grew By Sam Plank 1916 Artemas Ward. Overall a good copy. A couple of Connected leafs are detached (all pictured) but fully intact and in good condition individually. The binding is fair to poor but if somebody were to want to restore this I believe it would be quite easy. It does not have the original string. Some scribbling, which has also been pictured near the end of the book. Has mild foxing on edges and mild, even browning. Personal inscription from an aunt to a niece, Christmas 1924. There is an actual piece of string threaded through a hole in the center of each page. As you turn the pages, the string appears as part of the story. A good to very good copy, a small (about the size of a pea) light paint (?) spot is on the front cover, the fore-edges of the covers are slightly rubbed and slightly worn, the front paste-down endpaper is lacking, and the former owner's bold signature and date are on a preliminary page. The string is whole, as it should be, from the front of the book to the back and the pages are very clean. "A string runs through and connects all pages." (WorldCat).. First Edition. Hardcover. Good+. 5 3/4" x 8 3/4" (Oblong).
