Offsetting to front and rear endpapers, else a near fine, clean, tight copy in dust jacket lightly sunned on the spine, lightly soiled on the white rear cover, and light wear to the spine ends. One of the best of the Lord Peter Wimsey mystery stories in which he must find an illusive murderer. The ancient church and bells of the Fenchurch St. Paul play the leading part, and the book is steeped in the atmosphere of that strange, flat fen-country of East Anglia, fitting for a tale that begins with an unknown corpse in a quiet country churchyard.

The Nine Tailors is the ninth novel to feature Lord Peter Wimsey and is set in the Lincolnshire Fens, with the story concerning a group of bell-ringers at the local parish church. Widely considered her best work, Sayers can perhaps be forgiven for the minor criticism regarding her inaccurate campanology details. Sayers was a prolific author of crime fiction during the Golden Age of Detective Fiction, and one of the 'Queens of Crime', alongside notable others such as Agatha Christie and Ngaio Marsh.
