The 25th Anniversary Edition of one of the best contemporary children's books, with marvellous full-colour illustrations and story by the great Maurice Sendak. Condition: Very good, signed and illustrated. There is some edge wear to the jacket, price clipped, now plastic protected.

London: The Bodley Head, (1983).. Oblong 4to, (40) pp. Colour illustrations, inscribed from Sendak on the half title. Pictorial boards, d.w. with some minor chips and one small tear.

A fine copy in a price-clipped jacket with the Caldecott and HarperCrest gold foil labels. Slight use to the rear panel of the jacket, which is otherwise very nice. . Oblong 4to,. Illustrated in color by Maurice Sendak.. Inscribed by Maurice Sendak on the half-title page.

Early edition of Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak, signed by the author with a "Wild Thing" illustration.. Oblong quarto, [48pp]. Illustrated boards. Stated copyright date of 1963 on title page, with "Harper Crest Library Edition" on rear cover. Blue endpapers, rear free endpaper partially cut away. Mylar dust jacket previously affixed to pastedown endpapers, with some glue residue on both. Previous ownership stamp on front flyleaf and title page. Solid, clean text block, free of any marks or notations. In the publisher's dust jacket, $5.95 on front flap, clipped lower corner of front flap, short closed tear to rear panel, light soiling, Caldecott Medal label on front panel. "Reprinted in 1974" stated on rear flap of dust jacket. This copy is inscribed by the author with a sketch of a "Wild Thing" saying "Boo!" on front free endpaper.

First edition, first printing of Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak, in first state dust jacket.. Oblong quarto, [38pp]. Illustrated boards, olive green cloth spine. Faint soiling to paper boards, internally clean. On title page, contains Library of Congress number 63-21253. Pictorial endpapers, bright boards and clean illustrated text. In the publisher's first issue dust jacket, $3.50 price on front flap, code "40-80 / 1163" on bottom of front flap, three paragraph blurb on front flap and no mention of the Caldecott Award. Pin holes on corners of flaps, where dust jacket was previously displayed, light sunning to spine and toning to white borders. A very good example of the true first state jacket. (Hanrahan A58).
