Second box on rear panel features seven stories ending in "Snow" and the third box features 23 stories ending in "Little Black". Nice early printing with dust jacket. All items carefully packed to avoid damage from moisture and rough handling.

Minor edge soiling, owner's name discreetly hidden under flap. Jacket has small loss to the tail of spine, is rubbed and lightly creased and is chipped to extremities. Very good.

Illustrated boards, illustrated endpapers, 61 pp. About very good with wear at the extremities and a lightly erased pencil signature top edge of the front free endpaper. In similarly about very good dust jacket with all correct points for this edition/issue, vertical crease to the front panel and wear to the extremities. This issue of the first edition is the final version resulting in the publisher's decision to price the book at 1.95 (originally 200/200 was in the price portion of the jacket, indicating a price of two dollars and the boards were matte finish rather than glossy). A very rare title from the Dr. Seuss canon and more so in such good condition. It is one of the six titles Dr. Seuss Enterprises withdrew from publication in 2021, for 'hurtful and wrong' content, which is tricky to see why in this title. Younger and Hirsch 13.
