The original cloth binding has been rebacked relaying the original spine and is sound and tight. It is very clean with bright gilt titles to the spine. There is a slightly faded area towards the edge of the front board. Corners have light wear. There is a slight indentation to the bottom edge of back board close to the spine. Part of Jardine's Naturalist's Library but complete in themselves. Both volumes have been rebacked: relaying the original spines with gilt titles, and retaining the original green endpapers. Both bindings are clean, tight and sound with slight fading to board edges.
