New York: Doubleday (with a Hastings House label), 1972 & 1963. 3rd and 9th Printings. Both volumes in this two volume set are in fine condition in 1/4 black cloth and burnt orange or green cloth covered boards with gilt text stamping on the spines. Dust jackets were not issued with this set but the two volumes are contained in a slipcase which is in very good+ condition with modest tanning around the edges and with the original, small price sticker on the front panel. This set contains Little Red Schoolhouse and ABC Book of Early Americana.

Fine Book As New Signed by Author "ABC Book of Early Americana " 1963 and "The Little Red Schoolhouse" 1972, a rarely offered 2 volume set in a white cardboard box entitled "School Days", a sketchbook of Antiquities and American Firsts. Box has 2 small round gold price stickers and is in good condition only because of small tear at open edge. School house volume is boldly signed by author on front endpage with brown marker... Hardcover. 5. Illus. by Sloane, Eric. Book.

New York: Funk & Wagnalls, 1963 & 1972. Later printings. Two volume set, both signed by the author, Eric Sloane. Signed presentation copies from Eric Sloane, both inscribed: “To the Wildes, Eric. 1982.” Oversize. Illustrated throughout with pen and ink drawings by Eric Sloane of ‘ordinary’ images of traditional rural American school life. ABC is about fine with a very faint trace of rubbing to the corners at the top and bottom of the spine. Schoolhouse has a 1/3” tear to the cloth at the top of the spine at the fold and a tiny bit of rubbing to the bottom of the spine. Both volumes are enclosed in the publisher’s printed slipcase which is slightly worn and spotted.
