Color mounted plates are very clean.). Oversized portfolio boards, black and yellow lettering and ornamental border, tan cloth spine with brown lettering; 43 page booklet with bw illustrations; 60 loose color plates mounted on heavy cardstock. Text is in German. The coloured ornament of all historical styles with coloured plates from own paintings in water colours/ by Alexander Speltz / Pt. 1, Antiquity only of a 3 part set. Includes a preface, table of contents, list of sources, and an introduction.

A book on ornaments from the antiquities with excellent plates mounted on hea stock gray board. This is a compilation from the three volumes--ancient, medieval and modern with only part of the text. Priced accordingly.

Second volume of a striking pictorial history covering 6000 years of color ornaments. This copy contains the complete 60 tipped in color plates showing fine examples of colored ornaments in the Middle Ages. Each image measures appr. 7 1/2" x 10 1/2" and is mounted on a 11" x 15 " captioned cardboard. Moderate shelwear, and sunning on covers. Minor closed tears and sporadic chipping on portfolio flaps. Previous owner's sticker and inscription on inside of front board. Title in German, French and English. Captions in German. Portfolio in overall fair to good-, plates in very good condition.

To our knowledge none of the others were ever published. Very good.
