Much more than an interior design magazine, this is a beautiful, unique, quirky and fascinating magazine which was published from 1998-2004. In 2004, the Nest creative director, publisher and editor Joseph Holtzman shuttered the magazine to focus full-time on his painting. This issue of has American Landscape printed on the cover and an irregular edge throughout the top of the entire publication (see photo). Titled "Bushmore," the cover is a clay sculpture representative of Mount Hood in Oregon and four images of then presidential nominee George Bush. Much more than an interior design magazine, this is a beautiful, unique, quirky and fascinating magazine which was published from 1998-2004. In 2004, the Nest creative director, publisher and editor Joseph Holtzman shuttered the magazine to focus full-time on his painting. This publication has an irregular fore edge - indented one inch curve throughout the issue. It is tied with a black ribbon inserted through a die cut hole, and a repeated pattern "nest 13" is imprinted on the ribbon. This is the only place where the number 13 is found in the issue, due to Triskaidekaphobia, the fear of number 13, as stated by Nest. Much more than an interior design magazine, this is a beautiful, unique, quirky and fascinating magazine which was published from 1998-2004. In 2004, the Nest creative director, publisher and editor Joseph Holtzman shuttered the magazine to focus full-time on his painting. Known for its uniqueness, this issue of Nest is trapezoid in shape, not rectangular in shape as are most magazines. The cover and the back panel feature a young couple with scratch off swimwear; the swimwear is complete as issued, not scratched. Nest commissioned landscape architect Ken Smith to recreate a room depicting a nude young couple living as Adam and Eve, with numerous photos of the couple and the Eden-designed intriguing room filled with fake flowers, plants, fruit, frogs, caterpillars and a rainbow of light throughout the issue.
