Hardcovers, two-volume set in original binding of marbled paper covered boards half bound with leather to corners and spine. Volume 1 (1868) is in slightly better condition though leather is dry and brittle with cracks on spine edges and front hinge is cracked with the board shaky. Volume 2 (1870 is in worse shape with a large section of the spine leather missing and rear board is precariously hanging on by a few pieces. Internal bindings of the text pages in both volumes are secure, no text pages are loose. The tissue guard for the frontispiece on volume 1 is detached but present in volume 1 also has the original owner signature lightly written in pencil on the second end page, which should easily be erased if desired.
