Green cloth, lightly bumped. Bound with some reading wear and a forward lean, red top stain, clean internally. A Nero Wolfe novel that sees him investigate the murder of the Director of the Bureau of Price Regulation right before his speech at the National Industrial Association meeting at the Waldorf.

In dustwrapper, price-clipped, lightly creased, small tears, spine sunned, a few small chips, overall very good. A Nero Wolfe novel. Another case for the eccentric oversized New York armchair detective Nero Wolfe. The mysteries of Rex Stout were cited as an influence by thriller writer Ian Fleming, being mentioned by name in the James Bond novels (read by 007 and frowned upon by M). Cooper and Pike; Detective Fiction pp.277-281. Gilbert, p.624.

Minor wear to edges and boards, with tail of spine a little crinkled. Gift inscription on the front pastedown endpaper. Inside pages are clean and unmarked, with toning and a hint of mustiness. Dust jacket has wear to the edges, including tiny tears and creases. The spine ends are chipped. It is not price clipped. A Nero Wolfe mystery novel. .

It features legendary New York City private detective Nero Wolfe and assistant Archie Goodwin investigating the murder of a high-ranking government official. This copy shows some edgewear; there is a group of small stains on front cover. The dustjacket is basically whole but heavily worn and chipped along edges and at spine ends with stain on front panel corresponding to stains on front cover; no missing or damaged text.
