Swallow Geological Rooms, Columbia, Missouri on front preliminary page. Moderate foxing throughout, heavier in some places. Two full-page plates, both darkened and stained a bit. Hand-colored pull-out map at rear, lightly stained and intact, although part of top edge is darkened. Top edge of text is water-stained for about 1/4". Considerable material on mines, various geological formations. 93pp. + errata page.. First Edition. Black Blind-stamped Cloth.. Moderate Edge Wear./No Jacket. Octavo.

Printed by George Knapp & Co. St. Louis. 1859., 1859 Green cloth with front cover extensive blind stamped design and gilt lettering. Rear cover blind stamped coat of arms with supporters and border designs. Spine is blank. Tallish 8vo. 'Historical Memoir' of the Pacific Railroad of xvii pages followed by 93 pages plus an Errata leaf at the rear. Frontis color fold-out map some 33 inches long by 9 inches tall being the Geological Map of the proposed route and two full page plates. One of the plates is of particular interest in that it shows the mining town of Granby, Missouri as it was in 1857; mostly small log houses and shacks apparently home to the many miners working there. Pages mildy toned. 1.5 inch tear to map. A very good copy.
