Descripción:
London England: A. R. Mowbray, 1961. 'There's nowt so queer as folks' is the usual Lancashire comment when faced with the unexpected. And there's nothing quite so interesting, either. In Lancashire Hot Pot the anonymous wife of an anonymous parish priest tells of her experiences (more so than her husband's) in his first benefice in the County Palatine. The author's touch is ligh and humourous, and her observations shrewd and penetrating. Apprensive at first, she fell in love with the people she lived amongst, and her account of their life and doings is extremely lively and very nostaligic to all members of the clan and their friends. Decorations by Margaret Bruce Payne. Some wear and tear to D/J/ and foxing to endpapers. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions etc.). First Edition. Softcover. Very Good/Fair. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾"…
