During his first trip abroad in 1903, the author wrote a series of illustrated letters to his three nephews back in the States. They are reprinted here, with the drawings. Great insight into a man who truly was "amiable". This copy is signed on the half-title page by all three nephews; not numbered.

Also laid in is the original bill of sale from L.S. Ayres department store. .
