From an obituary posted on-line: "Richard D. Thruelsen, an author and magazine editor, died....He was 81 years old. Mr. Thruelsen was the author or co-author of four books, among them ''Mediterranean Sweep, '' a collection of stories detailing events that led to the liberation of Rome, which he co-wrote and which was published in 1944 by Duell, Sloan & Pearce. From 1936 to 1962, he served as an editor for The Saturday Evening Post. He was a major in the United States Army Air Forces in World War II. He was born in Hackensack, N.J., and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania."
