Clean, tight and strong binding with no underlining, highlighting or marginalia. Volume one of a multi-volume contemporary history of the Great Rebellion. Original embossed brown cloth covers with gold gilt emblem, and blind stamp decoration front and back..

Set shows wear but is intact in all essentials, showing rubbing with some exposure at several corners, mild spotting to lower front cover of Vol. I, discoloration/dye lightening extending in a thin area (1/4" to 1" wide) down 3/4 of front cover, mild sunning/fading to spine panels. Repair evident to front hinge of Vol. I, all other hinges intact.
