Illustrations and plates are lightly tanned with some foxing. Slight stains and markings to some pages. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Slight crushing to spine ends. Slight stains to front board. Gilt lettering is bright and clear.

A pocket-sized book, part of a larger series by Collins' Clear-Type Press (Collins' Illustrated Pocket Classics). This is volume II of the biography, sorry I don't have volume I. Illustrated. Cover of oxblood leather with gilt on the spine. Spine has damage at the top edge and somewhat less at the lower edge. The leather is also well worn at the corners. The pages are clean, tight and unmarked. The bookseller's sticker on the rear endpaper tells us it was originally sold at the Skylark Bookstore in Washington, D. C. No date is given within the book, but my research indicated that this book was published in the 1920s.
