Spine tips a little soft and just a hint of darkening to the spine otherwise a VG+ copy (with light foxing to the early/late pages of the book and to the text block. The D/W has shallow chipping at the head of the spine just affecting the lettering and a chip from the bottom edge of the rear panel removing part of the left hand edge of the atlas. Scans invited. Looks nicer than it sounds. Rare in D/W.

A near fine copy without the jacket. One of a few non-fiction works by thriller/adventure writer Dennis Wheatley. Recipient Percy Muir (1894-1979) was a book expert who introduced Ian Fleming to book collecting and assembled his important collection of scientific and pioneering books which 'made things happen'. Muir was a regular contributor to The Book Collector journal, of which Ian Fleming was the proprietor. Muir charmingly appears as British agent Muir, head of Station Z (Zurich) in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Cape, 1963), whose signal room is hidden behind a book-lined wall.
