Severe cracking to hinges, causing boards to be loose. Loss of pastedowns, exposure of newspaper. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Heavy crushing & peeling to spine. Gilt lettering remains bright and clear.

Moderate creasing and tanning to pages with heavier tanning to pastedowns and endpapers. Major tanning to text block edges and both hinges are cracked with exposed netting. Some pages are coming away from binding. Boards have visible rubbing and tape marks with visible bumping to corners. Heavy crushing to spine ends and peeling to spine.

Page 433 dog eared and followed by a pull out decorative page that is torn in half but complete. Contains two plays: King Richard II and King Henry IV, Part I. Binding is tight. Hinges are perfect. Good reading/research copy.

More prominent to text block edges. Light cracking to gutters but binding remains firm. Book is slightly bowed and forward leaning with visible tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has hey loss to leather with prominent peeling and crushing to ends.

More prominent to text block edges. Binding remains firm with slight creasing to gutters. Boards have moderate corner bumping and edge-wear with visible tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier chipping and tanning with noticeable loss and crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean.

It also bears the signature and date of purchase of F. A. Sondley (Dec. 30 1887, $2.00) on a front blank end paper. Tight, with bright text.
