Clean text; 477 pages. Frontis illustration and four others within [one is in colour; others black and white]. The paste downs are illustrated, featuring a unicorn. Mildly rubbed at the margins; spine has faded to a sort of golden tan, rendering the gilt titling readable but less prominent than desired. Lacking a dustjacket; in an archival plastic protector.. Publisher's mid-green cloth lettered in gilt to spine and front board decorated in blind, illustrated endpapers, edges untrimmed, pictorial dust-wrapper. Tiny nicks to cloth joints, inside paper joints started, dust-wrapper a shade toned to spine else fine. An attractive copy. Yeats was a poet whose autobiography depicts his childhood, of being an Irishman growing up in England and the racially motivated bullying and hostility he faced, in a poetic style. Yeats was the first Irishman to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1923, and served as an Irish Senator for two years.

Non authorial inscription on front endpaper, corners bumped and rubbed, exposing boards, heel of spine bumped, slightly cocked, else very good in the original dust wrapper, with printed spine label, unevenly faded and darkened, with loss to crown and heel of spine, some tears, but mostly complete and else good. .

[The reverse of the half-title has a list of eight other books that are uniform with this; five of them by his fellow Irishman George Moore.] Sl;ight darkening around the margins. The dustwrapper is complete but is chipped along the margins, (with a bit of loss to the uppar edges of the paper label, but not affecting the titling).In an archival plastic protector..
