Original wraps with a loose section of text (believed as issued) and an accordion style fold out section of 16 double sided color plates featuring many plants. All text in German. A small booklet featuring descriptions and illustrations of various plants. In GOOD condition. Moderate darkening/fading to the extremities. Moderate scuffing and some mostly minor creasing along the extremities, with a few small tears. Moderate browning to the text in the interior. Mostly minor browning to the plates.

Leipzig: Verlag Karl W. Hiersemann, 1936. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. FIRST PRINTING of First Edition. Ex-library bound in heavy black cloth with gilt lettering spine. Library bookplate on front pastedown, library perforated blindstamp on title page and on a couple other pages, no library marks on any of the illustration plates, no underlining or writing on any pages, no foxing, plates are clean and bright, solid binding. Generally nice condition. The book is very large weighing almost 7 pounds and measuring 370mm tall x 295mm. It has 101 pages of text followed by 60 plates (each full page in size with blank versos) of which 40 are in full color. PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.

Spine ends chipped, page edges and margins of text mildly age-toned, glassine jacket age-darkened, contents otherwise clean. Illustrations en noir, 4 planches en couleur.

N.p., (Pompei), 1950. Small 8vo. 165 x 120 mm., [6 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches]. Illustrated with 32 color postcards, linked together in accordian fashion and bound in boards, decorated with a view of ancient Pompei and Blessed Virgin Mary. High gloss tourists cards printed in color, each with an legend describing the image in Italian, French, English and German.  Nice survival in quite good condition.

Cernobbio, Lake Como: Villa d'Este, 1960. 8vo.  210 x 155 mm., [8 1/4 x 6 inches].  84, 1 pp.  12 tupped-in color plate reproductions.  Original cloth binding, dust jacket; boards with residue of paper wrapper, dust jacket showing some discoloration at edges.  With faults a good copy. Well-illustrated promotional guide to the history and gardens of the Villa d'Este on Lake Como.  A famous sanctuary of the rich which includes an illustrious past and examples of exquisite architectural buildings, Villa d'Este is still today a destination for both the connoisseur and the rich and famous. .

The book measures 152mm tall x 100mm and has 91 pages, many b/w photos with routes marked, several b/w sketches and cartoons, route index. An attractive little book with handsome color plates.
