N.Y.: McGraw Hill Based on the 1807 publication of the tale. Dust jacket has crinkling and a bit of edgewear but is bright and clean. Illustrated cloth on boards binding has small frays to corners but is quite clean and bright. Endpapers have finger smudges, library stamps and pocket, pulls from removal of plastic cover. Wonderful full colour illustrations by Galdone. Text has a few tears along bottom edge and some finger crinkling. An obvious well loved and well read copy of this fun rhyme.. HC and DJ. Poor/Fair. The slipcase is a little discoloured some markings. Inside 2 small volumes, each in their own cardboard covers with charming b/w illustrations throughout, are in near fine condition. A very nice set

No Place: No Publisher. Wraps. Fair. No publisher, place or date. Perhaps McLoughlin Brothers, New York, circa 1859-1875. Small booklet, MISSING covers. Spine a sewn brown cloth, presumably a later addition. 8 pp. Color illustrations throughout. Unsure if complete. A retelling of this popular rhyme for children, in which Old Dame Trot leaves to drink ale, etc., with the last page depicting the cat and dog smoking together. Nothing like drinking and smoking to entertain children! FAIR condition. Presumably MISSING covers. First leaf with a two inch tear at the center fore edge, with a smaller tear to the center for edge of the last leaf. Moderate scattered soiling, staining and foxing, with wrinkling and creasing. Corners curled/creased.

The Death and Burial of Cock Robin is a nursery rhyme of ancient origin. William Darton expanded the traditional rhyme with four new verses. This booklet has hand-coloured copperplate illustrations. The Moving Adventures of Old Dame Trot and Her Comical Cat has black and white engraved plates. This rhyme has been known since 1706 and appeared in a chapbook edition published in 1803 by T. Evans. The card envelopes that wrap around each individual booklet add a special touch. (One of a set of 35 handsome facsimiles in 28 slipcases.).

The illustrations are exactly the same as my other, but earlier ‘Old Dame Trot and Her Comical Cat (Pleasewell Series. Linen) excepting the cover has a new illustration. Bound in paper wrappers. There is some light rubbing and wear to cover and there is a small marginal tear which does go through the booklet, else a very good copy. Scarce. Size 7.5 x 5.5 inches

The illustrations are exactly the same as my other, but earlier ‘Old Dame Trot and Her Comical Cat (Pleasewell Series. Linen which is dated 1890.) Except the cover has a new illustration. Bound in card wrappers. There is some rubbing, creasing and wear to cover with loss to the paper surface; inside the paper is quite acidic and discoloured an overall brown; the whole book has suffered from damp as the pages are slightly wrinkled, a reasonable/ fair copy only. Scarce. Size 10.5 x 9 inches
