Foreword by A B Guthrie. Pages have slight foxing, tanning and minor thumbing. Foxing more noticeable towards the start and end of the book. Pencil inscriptions to front endpaper. Boards have some moderate edge wear, with slight bumping to corners and minor bumping to spine ends. Gilt is bright. Unclipped jacket has light edgewear with small tears and creasing. Jacket is slightly rubbed and marked overall. Flaps slightly foxed. Jacket is in a transparent sleeve.

Forward by A. B. Guthrie, Jr.. Very Good+ in very good dust jacket. Head and heel of spine no longer crisp. Jacket has chipping and wear to head and heel of spine flap, shelf wear to rear panel, wear along flap folds.

Dust jacket is bright with two scuff marks on front (top right corner probably price sticker removal) and bottom at hinge. White background shows rubbing and has small bit of tape at bottom hinge. A little rubbing and chipping at other edges. Nice copy.

Beidler (1831-1890) edited by Helen Fitzgerald Sanders with assistance from William H. Bertsche, Jr. Known simply as "X", Beidler had a knack for tracking down and arresting killers and other outlaws and bringing them to justice in the mostly lawless days of the Montana Territory of the 1860s. With five black & white illustrations and a foreword by A. B. Guthrie, Jr. --- In full red marble-look paper-covered boards with spine titling in gilt on black block. Volume itself has a small bookplate affixed to the inside of the back cover, it is approximately 1 1/4" by 3/8" at the bottom, next to the spine. The bookplate bears of the name of a bookstore, if anyone should know better it should be them. The book has no apparent underlining, no highlighting, no owner names, not ex-libras and not a remainder. Red cloth covers with gold and black lettering on the spine and pages nice and white with no evidence of any yellowing. 165 pages. Dust jacket is portected in an archival quality cover, and is not price-clipped, the dj has some chipping at top and bottom of spine and corner wear. The work is a stated first edition. This is volume eight in the Western Frontier library series of the University of Oklahoma Press. Clean & tight. A nice copy.
