Small stain and small abrasion to top edge of page block and top edge of rear board. Hinge at rear slightly exposed, folding map intact. In a Very Good dust jacket with publisher's price of $2.50 intact, with toning and light soiling, rubbing at extremities and edge wear with chipping; the largest chip is smaller than 1/3-inch x less than 1/2-inch at the top of the front panel. A little worn, but still a nice example of the George Salter dust jacket.

Housed in a custom chemise slipcase. A rarity and perennial "stopper" for Hemingway collectors in excellent condition.

Good condition with cloth thoroughly mottled with age, frayed at head and tail, spine lettering rubbed. Front hinge splitting at edges, still intact, though. Tiny contemporary owner inscription on front flyleaf. Light occasional internal foxing.

Bound in publisher's blue cloth decorated in black and gilt; all edges gilt. Contents on verso of preface, with the following mispagination present: p. [IX] mispaged XII; p. [X] mispaged XIII; p. [XII] mispaged XVI. Near Fine with light fraying to cloth at corner and spine ends, spine darkened. Front and rear inner hinges slightly exposed, owner name and small bookplate to front endsheet. Pages toned. A fantastic copy of the classic American novel, housed in a custom half-leather slipcase, with leather dried and lacking some chips and cloth lifted along bottom edge. BAL 3369.

Light rubbing to extremities; light staining to top edge of page block. Light foxing to pages, chip missing from bottom corner of last page. A lovely copy of the book served as the basis for the movie bearing the same name, starring Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn.

Copy 45 of 150 numbered copies issued along with 26 lettered copies; signed by Bukowski in black ink on back cover with heart-shaped sun, dog, flower (?), and lil' Buk doodles. 10.5" x 15" Large single sheet folded to create four pages. First book publication of a story originally published in Story magazine in 1944. Near Fine with very faint stain on top edge of front cover. A nice copy. Includes Bukowski's recollections of the publication of the story on the rear cover and a reproduction of one of Story editor Whit Burnett's letters on front cover as well as the complete story.Also includes the publisher's prospectus for this limited edition, signed by Bukowski on the front cover (number 1 of 15 such copies), hand-drawn Buk with jug doodle on verso.

Spine a bit darkened and scratched, small stain on front cover, cloth worn at edges. A circus-acrobat-themed graphic novel by a notable radical American artist and illustrator. It has been hailed by historians of the graphic novel as being one of the best early examples of the form. Especially rare signed.

Slight bowing to boards, former owner's name written on front free endpaper, in a Near Fine dust jacket, tiny tear along bottom edge of front panel, vertical crease to spine panel. A nice copy of the British author's second experimental novel, which features two "textual windows"-- strips cut out of pages 149-152.

London: Hurst & Blackett, 1867. First THUS. Hardcover. Signed by George MacDonald on half title, inscribed to George Bogue. First one-volume edition. (With correct printer info of J. Childs and Son. Shaberman 20.) 440, (4)pp. Original green cloth with gilt spine stamping, front blindstamped. Good+ with a cocked spine, cloth worn and a bit frayed along edges, exposed tips, some foxing and thumbing, hinges very tender. Alice in Wonderland author Lewis Carroll called this novel "very enjoyable, and the character of Annie Anderson is one of the most delightful I have ever met with in fiction." A scarce signed work by the Scottish Victorian novelist who helped create the genre of fantasy.
