Previous owner's name on the front free endpaper. It appears there has been a label on the inside cover which has been removed leaving a glue residue. Back inner hinge is cracked. A good copy of this first edition of Walbran's coast names, illustrated with b/w photographs. Provides the origin and history of place names. The fold out map at the back of the book appears unopened. This is a heavy book and may require additional shipping charges - at cost.

Map has small tear near the gutter, not affecting any of the printing. . A bright copy.

Small stamp on inner front cover (St. Andrew's College, Winnipeg); no other markings. Small (and old) tape repair, about 2-inches long, at the first edge of the folding map, the old cellotape has browned. A near fine, bright copy in the original green cloth, faintly frayed at spine head. Loosely laid in is an invoice from a Vancouver area rare book dealer, dated 1990, selling this book for $250. ¶ During his years as captain of the Canadian government steamship 'QUADRA', John T.
