A complete survey of the landscape, dress, religion, architecture and customs of the Japanese people at at time when the vestiges of feudal Japan still predominated. A wonderful picture of a now lost culture which however still represents the heart of Japanese tradition. A very sound, clean volume with bright, crisp, unmarked interior. No creases, tears, stains etc. Tissue guards all crisp and in place over color plates which are all pristine and bright. A very occasional fleck of faint foxing to margin of a handful of pages.
