Advertisement on rear wrapper lists 13 Aunt Affable titles. Chips & short tear to fore-margin of upper wrapper. Gift inscription dated 1843 on upper wrapper. Re-spined with grained skiver in 1891 when this, together with 20 other children's books of c. 1840's were bound together in one volume. Very rare, no copy cited by Copac.

Bell & Daldry, London, 1866. Frontispiece, Plates, & Illustrations. 8vo (8 x 5 3/4 inches), 384-pages. Original purple cloth elaborately blocked in gilt, all edges gilt. Spine dulled, peper of inner joints cracked. Contemporary inscription on front free endpaper.

Oxford University Press, 1937. First edition. Lithographic plates, some in black & red. Square 8vo (7 x 7 inches), unpaginated. Original pictorial boards in red, white, & blue. Near contemporary name and date on verso of title. Rubbing to corners and joints, some light spotting to binding, scuff to upper cover. "and Mr. Small" added in ink to upper margin of front cover. Generally good. Being the adventures of Mr. Small and his Baby Car.

Presentation inscription to an 11 year old girl on passing her first elocution exam in 1930 on front free endpaper. Bottom of text block soiled. Very heavy, extra postage will be requested.

Some offsetting of plates to facing leaves; the plates themselves very good. Inscription dated 1916 on front free endpaper.

Frederick Warne, London, n.d. ca. 1875. Coloured frontispiece (with 2 illustrated Limericks), coloured pictorial title and 83 colour illustrated Limericks on 40 leaves. The 40 leaves printed on one side only and bound back to back, each group interleaved with a blank. Thus 85 coloured illustrations and not 88 as stated on the cover. However the volume collates correctly; these coloured issues would appear to vary in the number of illustrations. 4to (10 1/2 x 9 inches), original green cloth pictorially blocked in gilt. Colour fading to portion of upper cover due to damp, chipped at base of spine, inner joints cracked, rear free endpaper detached. The colours of the illustrations very vibrant. Inscription dated 1877. An uncommon edition.

London: Warne, 1895. 110 plates incorporating verse. The first 32 have been hand-coloured as have a few others randomly. Oblong folio (10 1/4 x 8 3/8 inches). Original brown cloth gilt, rubbed, paper clip marks on title. Together with "More Nonsense" 4th edition. Warne 1894. 104 full-page plates with verses. This also with some hand colouring; 2 plates detached and worn on margins. Oblong folio, uniform brown cloth; wear to spine and splits to upper joint.

The binding is generally very fresh and bright.
