There is a small label pull on the front endpaper, otherwise the book and jacket are fine. Inscribed by the author to James Olney on the half title page. There is a typed letter to James Olney (editor of Southern Review) thanking him for publishing one of the poems in this book, and asking if the book could be reviewed in the magazine. Both book and letter are signed "Pete Fairchild". This book went on to win the National Book Critics Circle Award for poetry.

London: Riccardi Press, 1914. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. #301 of 1000 copies printed on handmade Riccardi Paper, very good with no dust jacket. Gray cloth spine over gray paper-covered boards. The gilt title lettering on the spine is a little dulled, but still legible. Faint owner name and date (1918) on front pastedown. The spine is a little darkened, and the boards have some general soiling. Lower corners are worn through at the tips. Taped to the second rear endpaper are two newspaper clippings concerning Housman, one being an announcement of his death (in 1936), and referring specifically to this title as being his most lasting work.

A book of domestic and family-oriented poetry from this Oklahoma author.

Maroon cloth with bright gilt lettering and designs on spine and front board; no dust jacket. Very good+ with slight edgewear to boards, and endpapers a little darkened. Top edge of page block is gilt; a square, tight copy with no names or other marking in the book.

Garden City, NY: Doubleday, Page & Co., 1924. Hardcover. Early printing (copyright date is 1920), very good with no dust jacket. 1925 gift inscription on front endpaper; page edges very lightly spotted. Spine lettering has partially flaked away, with just very light flaking to the gilt lettering on the front board. Includes a frontispiece photo of the author, and 10 pages of "Critical Opinions" at rear; 149 pages.

NY: Alfred A. Knopf, 1935. Hardcover. Later printing of the "Pocket Edition" of this classic. Very good or a little worse in pebbled leather binding, worn at edges, and with a bookplate on the front pastedown. A few pencil marks which have been erased in the margins. Small format, approximately 5 1/2 " high and 4" wide, with top edge of pages gilt and a silk marker ribbon sewn in.

NY: George H. Doran Company; (1914). Hardcover. Later printing of this classic poetry collection, very good in a slipcase. Leatherette covers with colorful art deco endpapers. Covers are a little dulled. 1926 gift inscription with small new booksellers label on half title page. All page edges gilt; silk marker ribbon sewn in. The slipcase has a little wear at the edges, but is solid and square.

Claremore, OK: Rogers College Foundation Press; (1982). Revised Edition . Soft cover. Stated second printing, very good in wraps. A facsimile reprint with a few pages of additional content. Covers are a little soiled. No names or other writing in or on the book. Poetry; 63 pages. Lynn Riggs was born just outside Claremore, Oklahoma, and is best know for writing the play "Green Grow the Lilacs" which was made into the Broadway musical Oklahoma.
