New York: Frederick A. Stokes Company, 1903. This handsome two-volume First edition set, first published in May, 1903, is in Very Good condition. See photo. The books have red cloth bindings with blind-stamped designs on the front panels, as well as die-stamped gilt lettering on the front panels and spines. The books also have top edge gilt. There is some spine darkening, and rubbing at the spine tips. The interiors are excellent, tightly and securely bound, with no marks or inscriptions from former owners. The pages are clean and sparkling throughout both volumes, with no stains or tears. The letters were translated from the German by J.A. Ford. A number of fold-out facsimile letters are laid in. The books include frontis portraits of William I (Wilhelm I) and Bismarck.
