The first American edition of this bestselling Swedish mystery that was recently made into a film, and will soon be filmed again by Hollywood. The author Stieg Larsson died shortly after delivering this and 2 other manuscripts to his Swedish publisher. This is a superb pristine fine copy in a fine dustjacket.

New York: The Dial Press, 1978. First American Edition . Boards & Cloth with Dustjacket. Well received novel that won the James Baldwin Prize for its author, who down the road took his own life. The book is illustrated with line drawings by the author's brother, the late artist Benn Andrews who also did the artwork for the dustjacket. Very minute discoloration to the white dustjacket which is common with this book and a tiny mended tear to the top corner of the front panel of the dustjacket. Vg+/vg+

New York: Beech Tree Books, 1985. 2nd Printing . Boards & Cloth with Dustjacket. Powers well received and somewhat uncommon book in hardcover about three stepbrothers, that was inspried by the beautiful photograph by the great photographer August Sander. The photograph is reproduced on the verso of the half title pg. There is a very faint hardly noticeable stain (if I didn't mention it one would be hard put to see it) on the very bottom of the front edge which has caused some very faint and again hardly noticeable rippling to some of the corners of the last pages, not affecting the text at all. There is also a spot of soiling to the top edge. The dustjacket has a touch of shallow chipping to the top and bottom of the spine panel and some like wear to the edges. This is a vg. copy in a vg. dustjacket with all the defects mentioned, and a very reasonable priced copy of an early printing of the book.

San Francisco: McSweeney's, 2005. First Edition . Cloth Covered Boards. Another elaborate issue of the cutting edge literary magazine. This issue is comprised of two softcover books, oversize playing cards that feature a story by Robert Coover, and for some reason a comb. Authors include Anne Beattie, Roddy Doyle, Denis Johnson and others. The folding cloth case is covered in tan cloth decorated with a trees and is fine along with all the laid in material which is also fine.

San Francisco: Chronicle Books, 1996. First edition/1st Printing . Large Boards with Dustjacket. Another strange and lovely illustrated tale from Nick Bantock. Fine/fine.
