Along with the fun whoopie pie facts this focused cook book offers a plethora of variations. Whoopie pies are a familiar treat, especially in the mid-west. A wonderful not-quite-cookie sandwich filled with awesomeness. Divided into two major sections, cookie sandwich and fluffy filling. The cookie section offers the classic chocolate along moving to the more adventurous Pistachio-cardamom; Pumpkin; Carrot Cake, Vegan Chocolate and many others. The fluffy fillings include classics such as Marshmallow, cream cheese and buttercream moving deftly into Dulce de Leche, Tiramisu Cream, ending with Vegan vanilla "butter" cream on page 106 facing bacon-chive goat cheese on page 107. Willard. Illustrated. Front hinge is torn 1/2" up but remains solid; toned endpages and edges otherwise a clean bright copy. Juliana Horatia Ewing (1841-1885) was an English writer of children's stories. Her writings display a sympathetic insight into children's lives, an admiration for things military, and a strong religious faith. ; 8vo .

Heavily used text book with at least two former owners names, Rex White age 10 being predominate. Rex has liberally made pencil notations throughout the text, including a complete prayer. Stamped 1915 in ink inside the back cover. Numerous finger smudges throughout - apparently Rex was not careful with his hand washing. Although worn, used and smudged, it remains a lovely book. ; 8vo .

A good working or reading copy. 193 pages plus an extensive catalog. With frontispiece and 8 additional illustrations (Reginald B. Birch.) A little Italian boy with a beautiful voice, who comforted Mrs. Burnett when she mourned for her son at San Remo, is the hero of the first story. It is slightly autobiographical, introducing the writer and her tender reminiscences of her lost boy. "The boy who became a Socialist" is a pleasant sketch of " Geof,' her second son. The other stories deal with children she has met all over the world—princes and peasants—and are full of a delightful humor.; 8vo .

The Sugar Creek Gang is a series of 36 Christian-themed juvenile fictional books about the adventures of a group of young boys. Number 20 in the series also titled "The Bull Fighters" published in 1952. The story follows Wally and his cousin Bill who take the Sugar Creek Gang on a round of adventures, and Wally is eventually welcomed into the Gang as a member. ; 8vo .

Miss Pickerelle is a quirky but proper lady who's science centered adventures has spurned the imagination of many children over the years (this bookseller included). MacGregor included valid scientific facts in her Miss Pickerell books. The science was current when she wrote these engaing stories, some of the topics addressed were weightlessness in space travel, atomic energy, carbon-14 dating, and many others. ; 8vo .

The binding is loose, some pages beginning to separate; nicked edges; spots throughout. .

The dust jacket is in poor condition with numerous tears, creases etc. It is, however not price clipped and, post picture, a protective, removable cover applied. This is the first book Mahy had published to the international market (flap blurb). "Margaret Mahy was a New Zealand author of children's and young adult books. Many of her story plots have strong supernatural elements but her writing concentrates on the themes of human relationships and growing up. She wrote more than 100 picture books, 40 novels and 20 collections of short stories. At her death she was one of thirty writers to win the biennial, international Hans Christian Andersen Medal for her "lasting contribution to children's literature" Wikipedia.; 8vo .
