Original uncirculated newsletters, 3 issues, volume 5, numbers 1, 6, & 8, January 14, February 17, & March 3, 1964. Quartos (11" x 8.5"), single sheets folded once vertically forming 4 pp. (each), illustrations throughout mostly from photographs.Slightly toned, trace edge wear, couple of unobtrusive horizontal creases (seemingly a production flaw), otherwise near fine. "A final SNCC legacy is the destruction of the psychological shackles which had kept black southerners in physical and mental peonage; SNCC helped break those chains forever. It demonstrated that ordinary women and men, young and old, could perform extraordinary tasks." ~Julian Bond, October, 2000.
