The courtship of William McKinley and Ida Saxton is narrated in verse. Illustrated with photo-illustrations of the couple, their homes in Canton, OH, and their portraits taken while in the White House. Likely published prior to McKinley's assassination in September 1901.

Chicago: Johnson Pub, 1968. Magazine. 66p., 4.25x5.75 inches, illus., wraps lightly worn, address label and a few small stains on front wrap, else good pocket book magazine in pictorial wraps. Published shortly after the assassination of MLK. Includes articles on the riots following the assassination, the arrest of James Earl Ray, and the Memphis sanitation worker strike.

Boston: GCN, 1978. Newspaper. 20p., folded tabloid newspaper on newsprint, news, opinion, articles, events, ads, photos, services and resources, toning and light wear. Boston's LGBTQ newspaper which started in 1973. More political than entertainment. Special issue on pornography. Also reports on the Dan White insanity plea.

Washington DC: Center for Strategic & International Studies, Georgetown University, 1985. Pamphlet. 23p., blue wraps; wraps a tad handled, else in very good condition. Significant Issues Series, Volume VI, No. 20.

Gretna LA: Pelican Publishing Company, 1992. Hardcover. 255p., illustrated with two b&w photos, a frontis portrait of Hill and a Dealey Plaza frame showing both the site where she stood, and the knoll. Second printing, hardbound in plastikoid black boards titled in bright red, and enclosed in the dust jacket. A very good to fine copy in every respect: perfectly sound, clean and unmarked. An account that those amongst us interested in 22 Nov 63, liked very much.

New York: Penthouse Press Ltd, 1975. Hardcover. xii, 266p., "charts" section; first edition cloth boards in dust jacket. Boards yawn very faintly, a flaw in all copies we have seen, usually it's worse. Cloth is bright, also the lettering. The unclipped jacket is slightly edgeworn, else entirely sound and bright. Clean and unmarked, very good condition.

Barcelona: Ediciones Martinez Roca, 1967. Hardcover. Sixth printing of Rojas' take on the murder, first published in April of 1965. Hardbound in green papered boards titled and ruled gilt, lacks the jacket, spine panel is sunned and the gilt titling dim (but still legible), bears a Mexican seller's fiche, the alkaline textpaper is rather toned, item is else sound, clean and unmarked. Nueva Fontana. Written in January 1964, before the suspicion of "coup d'etat" had jelled in the US.

New York: McGraw-Hill, 1980. Hardcover. 640p., photo section, first edition (so indicated) blue-grey papered boards under a dark blue cloth backstrip lettered in silverfoil, and enclosed in the dust jacket. Find a charming small bookplate on the verso of front free endpaper. A very good copy in every respect. For a few years, Summers' was the book to go to, for a comprehensive single-book treatment. Remains a good background introduction. Henry Hurt, Jim Marrs, and Noel Twyman came along subsequently, each author with new and valuable contributions.

New York: Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, 1976. Hardcover. 158p., first edition clothbacked boards in unclipped dust jacket. A very good copy, quite sound and perfectly clean and unmarked. Awful dust jacket photo (cowboy silhouette indicating a typical heartland citizen we must suppose) and no catchy subtitle. Sometimes a bad jacket will kill a book and here, I think, is an instance of its deadliness. At any rate : This guy knew and possibly still knows everybody, and people needed to get to know him. He wrote [patter? unclear] for JFK that Bobbie asks about; there is substantial Kennedy-family stuff here, it's all epigrams and goes by quick, but it's there --and conspiracy constructions on both assassinations are front and center. Sahl spent time with Jim Garrison and Garrison is one of the few celebs here whom Sahl does not insult in the course of defining who they are. His takes on Abbie Hoffman, Stokeley Carmichael and Daniel Ellsberg are useful even in retrospect. He notes, refreshingly, how yippies… Leer más

Tubingen: Fritz Schlichtenmayer, 1964. Paperback. xvi, 231p., laminated 9x5.5 inch wraps, pages evenly toned, wraps yellowed and edgeworn, else good condition. Stashinsky defected in 1961, admitting to two political murders done with a Soviet-made "gas pistol;" however the main focus here is on the responsibility for certain late-30s war crimes.

n.pl: Times press :: Anthony Gibbs & Phillips, 1964. Hardcover. 136p., original gray boards; dust jacket is edges are showing some minor chipping and frayed edges with some tape repairs, front dust jacket has surface abrasion and some rubbing, else very good.

Sausalito, CA: Elan Incorporated, 1962. Pamphlet. [2], 31, [3] pages, wraps. 7.5 x 4.75 in. Colophon: "Printed under the direction of Wallace Kibbee." Edition of 150. Posthumously published poems by Stephen Thomas edited by his friends as a tribute after he was murdered in 1961 by a gunman targeting a professor on the UC Berkeley campus. Includes works produced at the Iowa Writers' Workshop which Thomas attended in 1958. Thomas was a graduate student at UC Berkeley and the teaching assistant of English professor Thomas Parkinson, who was the gunman's target.

London: Privately Printed for Chas. J. Sawyer, Ltd, 1952. Hardcover. 319p., hardbound in 10x7 inch textured red boards titled gilt and enclosed in the dust jacket. Generally presentable condition (bright and sound) with one bad eyesore: namely, reddish staining and ripple to lower front cover, then inside to pastedown and front free endsheet, and to the lower corner-tips of adjacent leaves including titlepage. Extremities of rear endsheet are also touched. This stain seems to derive from the dust jacket which has a black recto and a high-saturation red verso. The dust jacket is edgeworn and carelessly price-clipped, with a few printed words clipped away. An otherwise handsome item with rubricated titlepage and pretensions to finepress status. No colophon.

Newspaper. 8p., unevenly folded tabloid newspaper, paper toned, some staining and edge wear else good condition, articles, news, opinion, events, cartoons, Interim publication by the publishers of Ramparts magazine. Articles on Jim Garrison's investigation of the JFK assassination, FBI surveillance of student activists, and more.

New York: Ukrayinsʹke Robitnyche Tovarystvo Pomoryany v Nʹyu-Yorku, 1918. Paperback. 43p. staplebound pamphlet, year penciled on cover, bookplate inside front cover indicating that it was donated to a library, though their catalog does not show that it was ever accessioned. On Miroslav Sichinsky, the Ukrainian assassin of Count Andris Potocki, governor of the Austrian Province of Galicia. Sichinsky escaped from prison and became a community leader in Rochester, NY.

Oakland: The Black Panther Party, 1973. Newspaper. 20p. tabloid format newspaper, horizontal fold, minor nibbles at bottom edge. Cover story: "Who killed Marcus Foster?" It was done by the Symbionese Liberation Army, but the Panthers are dubious; the article links this attack on Foster with the recent NCLC labeling of Amiri Baraka as a "CIA agent" and the appearance of "an American Nazi Party pamphlet" distributed in San Leandro, warns a new wave of violence is pending. Editorial addresses the seriousness of the attack and the smear by "rumors and suggestions that the Black Panther Party had something to do with the Murder of Dr. Foster..." so that "Defense against attacks...will be the excuse for wholesale military assault." Mentions a letter being circulated by "a so-called Symbionese Liberation Army." Rear cover advertises a set of greeting cards by Emory Douglas.

Portland, OR: the journal, 2012. Magazine. iii, 39p., illustrated with scattered portrait photos and scenes of confrontation. A very good copy: sound, clean and unmarked. This issue memorializes the dozens of police assassination of blacks on city streets and in prisons; we date the item at 2012, the year Trayvon Martin was murdered; he seems to have been the latest.
