Buell was a photographer in Geneseo, Illinois 1870s - 1890s. (Langdon's List of 19th & 20th Century Photographers ). Photograph is Fine, verso blank with a few small stains. Owner name Louise Melvin, 1926, Lebanon, Indiana inside front cover. Very Good, some chipping to page edges. Contains 152 pictures, 2 hand-colored, the rest black and white. Earliest dated photo 1922. One blank page at rear. Mostly family and friend portraits, with 13 photos of soldiers at Camp Knox, dated 1925, including portraits of Lieut. Julius Ryan and 1st Sgt. Art Cline. Some photos taken at Penn Station, several pictures of girls in bathing suits, and some of children. No date, no place, circa 1960. Contains 313 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" black and white photographs, each individually numbered and labelled, mounted on black album pages with gilt corner mounts, representing a touring exhibition that opened in 1960. at the Indiana University Art Museum, and coincided with the first official visit to the United States of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Various Photographers , 1930. A group of 32 photographs, 30 b&w and 2 color, ranging in size from 4" x 6" to 7" x 9 1/2", 10 circa 1930's, the rest 1957-1997, 8 SIGNED ( signees to be determined). Credited photographers are: Ginger Gamage, Forbes, Jay Dee (Ft. Worth, TX), V. Sladon, (NYC), and John Lindquist. Some of the photos have writing verso identifying the subjects, including one of Svetlova with Claudio Arrau and Mantovani. Several appear to be other noted people in the world of dance. And the 1930's photos, several of which are signed, appear to be friends of Svetlovas. Marina Svetlova ( 1923-2009) had a carrer in ballet that began as a child in 1931 and carried into the 1960's. She was a soloist with the Original Ballet Russe and a ballerina with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet. In 1969 she became a Professor of Ballet and chairwoman of the ballet department at Indiana University in Bloomington until 1992, gaining a reputation as a major educator in dance. A… Leer más

Original Photographs A collection of seven 7" x 9" and five 8" x 10" original black and white photographs, undated but appear circa 1970s-1980s, eight depicting motorcycle racers and four, automobile racers including one SCARCE photo of Paul Newman sitting in a race car. No attribution as to photographers and no writing to verso of any of the photos. Five of the 7 x 9 motorcycle photos are European, as some of the signage shows "BMW Clubs of Europe". Pleasant Hill, MO: Little & Sprague No Date, circa 1869, what is now called the Hannibal Bridge saw construction begin in 1867 and finish in 1869. Titled "Kansas City Railroad and Carriage Bridge" under photo, "Little & Sprague, Pleasant Hill, MO" right margin, in fine print under left side of photo "Total Length 1,395 Feet" and :"PACAN & WINANS (illegible)" under right side of photo. Verso appears to have a map in faint pencil of the area of the bridge. Very Good, dark spot to margin left edge. . Cartes-de-Visite . Very Good. 2 1/2" x 4".
