Old folds, moderate edge wear including a 3/4 inch tear without loss, lightly toned & foxed, otherwise Very Good.

Dorchester, Massachusetts: Walter Baker & Co., two 16mo volumes, 1905 & 1908, each with 64 pages plus 4 leaves of plates printed recto & verso providing chromolithograph illustrations of deserts or the company's products. Publisher's embossed, pictorial, stapled light card covers housed in an illustrated, ribbon-bound folding sleeve opening to pockets for the pamphlets.
Staples rusted, otherwise fine. Sleeve with minor foxing/ soiling, light edge wear including a couple ot short tears, ribbon tie a bit frayed.
The pamphlets have different introductions but present the same recipes & illustrations. The sleeve highlights the company's 1904 World's Fair Grand Prize & touts their "53 highest awards in Europe & America." Although thr recipe books are relatively common, we have never seen another example or even a reference for the sleeve.

St Louis, Missouri: Johnson's Commercial College, [1878]. 24mo, single sheet measuring 5.25 inches by 11.5 inches folded 3 times vertically to form 8 pages. Printed on thin paper.
Lightly edgeworn, tanned & slightly soiled, Very Good." Johnson's Commercial College stands in the front rank as as educational institution of public utiity. It has a full corps of professors who devote their entire time to teaching. Its halls are sufficiently large to accomodate eight-hundred students in daily attendance. The front cover features an amazing lithographed illustration signed in print "G.P." depicting a court jester, tobacco pipe in hand, exhaling smoke, with a dog at his feet, & a quote from Shakespeare's As You Like It below.
Brief wear along the fold, trace edge wear, otherwise Very Good.

The cover illustration features a white girl & an African American girl, each presenting a cake.
Presents recipes for jellies, cold desserts, frozen desserts, salads and savories, candies, and Invalid and convalescent recipes, all using Knox Gelatine. Additionbally includes "Hints for Serving."

Columbus, Ohio: J. L. Stelzig & Co., 1861. First edition. 8vo (8" x 5.25"), [1], 2 - 8 pages. Printed paper self wraps, the lower cover with woodcut depiction of the Delaware Grape. OCLC locates one copy as of 7/24/2023 (Ohio History Center, accession # 35317536).
Folded once horizontally, moderately toned & soiled, slight edge wear, otherwise very good.
Provides a description of the grape, instructions for planting, testimonials, & pricing for vines.

No place [Chicago ?]: Price Baking Powder Company, (1887) "Ninth Edition" 16mo, 80 pp., illustrated. Original pictorial paper wraps, stapled.
Moderately soiled, toned, hanging hole (as issued), otherwise very good.
In addition to "Cream of Tartar Baking Powder," the company also provided "delicious flavoring extracts," which, of course, feature prominently in the recipes The upper cover depicts in color a lovely lass gathering grapes in France & the lower cover promotes "Wm. Brown Choice Family Groceries" of Washington, D.C.

Baltimore, Maryland: The Maull Company, apparently prepared for the Biltmore Hotel, no date [1913 per OCLC Worldcat]. Single sheet printed on thick card stock measuring approximately 9.25 inches by 12 inches folded twice vertically (as issued) to 9.25 inches by 4 inches, with illustration in color of the Biltmore Hotel on the front panel & street map of Manhattan comprising the entirety of one side.
Soiled & foxed mostly affecting the front & back panels, modest edge wear including two bruised corners, otherwise Very Good.
The rotating pointer riveted in center "will show you the exact location." Includes index to railroad terminals and steamship piers at the upper corners of the map, with indexes to streets, points of interest & department stores on the verso.
Quite uncommon, OCLC Worldcat locates four copies as of 10/13/2021 (accession number 32342187) at New York Historical Society Library, New York State Library, University of California, Berkeley, & University of Michigan.

Folding brochure, single sheet measuring 22 inches by 16.75 inches folding to 7.5 inches by 3.5 inches. Provides maps, illustrations from photographs, & descriptive text. Not found in OCLC as of 3/22/2024.

Washington, D.C.: The Evening Star Newspaper Company, 1894. Original die cut calendar measuring approximately 13.75 inches by 10 inches printed in color on card stock.
Removed from a scrapbook. Brief remnants of adhesive & a ring stain on the verso, lightly stained, modest edge wear including a couple of nicks & short tears, a bit curled, otherwise very good.
Presents the front page of the newspaper for November 23, 1894 surrounded by the months of the year, each with a little girl in color outfitted to match the month. This stunning calendar was probably issued as a premium for subscribers.
The Evening Star was the paper of record for Washington, D.C. for much of the time between 1852 & 1981.

[San Diego, California]: San Diego - California Club, no date (1919 per OCLC ). Small octavo (7.75" x 4.5"), Accordion folded pamphlet, pictorial front cover & one page of text at the rear cover plus 22 captioned illustrations from photographs on two strips. The caption on one illustration provides a date of "Nov 27, 1918."
Moderately soiled & foxed mostly affecting the covers, small loss at one corner, otherwise Very Good.

New Haven, Connecticut: E.P. Best Mfg. Co., no date (ca. 1890). Folio (approximately 15" x 10"), embossed chromolithograph on thick card stock.
Modest edge wear, light soiling, verso with remnants of glue (apparently once mounted) & a few scuffs, Very Good. Undoubtedly a stock image adapted to the needs of this enterprise, the pastoral vignette of grazing cows along a meandering stream, surrounded by a border of colorful flowers, seems incongruous with the nature of the business. Not found in OCLC although trade cards by EP Best are represented.

Dr. S[amuel] Dana Hubbard (1869 - 1937), dermatologist, was a member of the New York Board of Health for 40 years where he led efforts to expose quacks and investigated violations of medical practice acts. Additionally, he published numerous pamphlets presenting 
"facts" related to sex, motherhood, marriage, etc. Of note, Dr. Hubbard provided "scientific and medical facts" for at least two movies including "The Naked Truth, The story of a fellow who sowed his Wild Oats" and "Some Wild Oats," both of which are promoted in this pamphlet.
