Philadelphia, PA: Theodore Presser, 1891. Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, green cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. Exterior shows minor edge wear and spotting. Front board shows a few small wrinkles to the extremities. Floral end pages and front and rear contain no signatures or bookplates. Second end page shows were a faint evidence of something once penciled in the corner, possibly an old store price. Interior hinges are cracked at both front and rear boards. Pages are toned but clean, no binding issues on text pages. Pages 86/87 show dark spots that was caused by a sheet of paper that was placed inside. This is the third edition with the copyright date of September 1, 1891.

Phil: Philadelphia Museum of Art, 1971. 2nd Printing. Soft cover. Good+. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. See photos for condition details. Tall softcover, textured card stock wraps shows soiling and handling wear, edges are curling and spine has a thin crack just after the "Y" in Calligraphy. This thin crack does not appear to be from misuse and may just be a binding issue in a strictly cosmetic. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. No signatures or bookplates, no remainder marks or library markings. Only evidence of handwriting found in the book is on the front end page where there is faint residue in the upper corner where a previous price and cold was penciled.

New York: American Book Exchange, 1881. Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, green cloth boards decorated in gilt and black. Cloth is bright though edges and spine show darkening. Spotting is noted to the finish of the cloth and dark spot at bottom of spine, possibly a ink spot. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues other than a bit of pulling at the title page. Previous owners name written on front pastedown. Pages are toned due to age and some spotting and foxing is present, with the worst of the foxing being the end pages and pastedowns.

New York: D. Appleton & Company, 1872. Hardcover. VG-. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, pebbled black cloth boards with black stamped leather to spine. Exterior shows edge and corner wear and leather on rear board has a small scrape about 2 inches down from the top. The front and rear end pages show advertisements from the publisher. Second end page has a signature in pencil, presumably the original owner. No other handwriting found in book. Pages are toned due to age and scattered spotting and foxing is present. No binding issues, no torn or loose pages.

Negro Universities Press, 1970. New edition . Hardcover. New/No Jacket. New. 176 p. Audience: General/trade. No DJ (none issued). Brown cloth boards with gilt text on spine. Book is like new, pages are bright and free of any handwriting or bookplates (Retail price was written in pencil on end page but has since been erased). Binding is tight, this book was never even fully opened. Small dot of binders glue on rear pastedown, upper left corner has pulled the paper (about the size of a pea).

Colonia Vista Alegre, Mexico: E. C. O., 1942. 1st Edition . Soft cover. VG-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Softcover, measuring roughly 8 inches tall and 12 inches wide. Pictorial paper wraps blue cloth on spine. Exterior is toned due to age with numerous foxing and soiling spots, cloth has some minor folds. Internal binding is good in text pages are tight. The inside front wrap contains a bookplate in the opposite end page is stamped "American Institute for Foreign Trade, Phoenix Arizona". No other markings found in the book, no handwriting, no library markings. Pages are darkened due to age and type of paper used. Most of the large color maps have glassine overlays but some do not. It is unknown if they are supposed to or if this was the way the book was made. Book is unpaginated and in Spanish.

Ithaca, NY: Cornell University, 1886. 1st Edition . Soft cover. Good-. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. See photos for condition details. Softcover, original mustard wraps with raised silver text. Interior is spotted and soiled and wraps have numerous chips and small tears, the largest tear is on the rear upper right area which measures just over an inch and 1/2. Front wrap is also missing a small section in the bottom right corner. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight. No interior hinge issues. The advertisement pages starting 157 are still uncut along the top edge. Paper is toned due to age and there is some foxing and smudge marks present. The first page (which is the backside of the frontispiece) has a presentation inscription from one of the staff. No other handwriting found in the book, no bookplates, no library markings.

Oeniponte (Innsbruck): Feliciani Rauch, 1931. Hardcover. VG+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, original binding of marbled paper boards half bound with leather to spine. Exterior shows some sunning, particularly to edges and spine area. Edges and corners also show wear. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight like book was used very little. Marbled end pages in front and rear. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting, though the front end page is stamped "Duplicate". Paper is mildly toned due to age but pages are clean. Text is in Latin.

Hanover, NH: The Webster Press, 1922. 1st Edition . Hardcover. VG-. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, green paper boards quarter bound with cloth on spine, paper label on front. Exterior shows only minor edge and corner bumping and handling wear. No signatures or bookplates present. End pages show moderate to heavy foxing which is also present on scattered pages throughout as well as exterior page edges. First edition thus.

New York: John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 1888. Hardcover. VG-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Original hardcover, bound in brown buckram, blindstamped with gilt text on spine. Dark brown end pages. Original owner signature along with an 1888 date is penned on second end page. This book belonged to Harry R. Lee. Mr. Lee eventually graduated from West Point in 1889 and went on to become Colonel Harry R. Lee and served in WWI. The book includes 12 four out diagrams, which have been verified as being attached and undamaged. First paragraph has some pencil notes on it from the young cadet well as the second to last blank page in the book. Binding is secure with no torn or loose pages. There are few minor smudge prints but overall pages are clean. Rear hinge starting to crack about 1" at the bottom. An attractive copy with an impressive history of ownership. See photos.

New York: W. J. Johnston, 1892. 2nd Edition . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. See photos for condition details. Large hardcover, original binding of pebbled black cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. The exterior shows scuffing and spotting along with edge and corner bumps/wear. The front board shows some dampstains, mainly along the right edge. The interior front hinge at board shows some lifting and small openings at the hinge, the rear board also has this to a greater extent and that hinge may have been possibly repaired at one point. There are no signatures or bookplates present, no handwriting, no library markings. Pages are mildly toned food and age and there is some random spotting present. Both end pages and paste downs also show spots and stains/smudges.

New York: William Wood & Company, 1879. 2nd Edition . Hardcover. Good+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, blind stamped violet cloth boards gilt text on spine. Exterior shows spotting and fading and wear/bumps to corners and edges. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight. No hinge issues, no signatures or bookplates, no library markings. Pages are toned due to age and foxing is present with the worst being the end pages and pastedowns. There is some light dampstain on the exterior textblock though this is mainly limited to just the outside of the book with the exception of pages 161-176 which shows dampstains present on the upper and lower corner sections.

Paris, France: Masson et cie Editeurs, 1963. Hardcover. Very Good/VG-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. DJ is toned and scuffed shows minor wear and bumps along edges as well as foxing spots and soiling. Great clapboards underneath show only toning along edges and spine with a few age spots present, corners lightly bumped. Internal binding is good in text pages are tight. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, though "Service de Presse" is stamped at the bottom of the title page. The only evidence of handwriting is on the front end page where there is very faint residue from where a price was once penciled in the corner. The remaining pages are toned due to age but are clean and the only other flaw noted involves the pages starting at 145 and all the way to the last end page where there is a small heart-shaped cut out in the lower outside corner area - this issue is well outside of any text blocks. New York: A. Jay Cross Optical Company, 1911. 2nd Edition . Hardcover. Good-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, bluish green cloth boards with guilt text on spine. Exterior has a dampstain on the front board which is the main reason for the low condition grade. Rear board has a small crease in the cloth in the upper left corner area. The internal binding of the text pages is acceptable but hinges at both boards show cracks that were repaired at some point. There is also a thin line of webbing showing at page 112/113. Paper is toned due to age but text pages are clean. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings present. Some of the pages, such as the illustration index page show some very faint staining in the upper inside corners. This in no way affects the readability of the book in any way. Exterior spine states second edition.

Hardcover, original binding of pebbled stamped boards with leather to spine. The exterior of this copy (we have several listed) also shows scuffing and spotting along with edge and corner bumps/wear, although the leather shows a bit more wear. The internal binding is overall good, no hinge issues. The only handwriting found in the book is on the second front end page where the original owners name is signed along with an 1877 date (in pen). There are no library markings, no other handwriting, no bookplates. Pages are toned due to age but there is only light foxing and spotting present. Hardcover, original binding of pebbled stamped boards with leather to spine. The exterior does show some scuffing and spotting along with edge and corner bumps/wear. The internal binding is overall good although there is some pulling and spots. The only handwriting found in the book is on the second front end page where the original students name is written in pencil (Ida Devilbliss). There are no library markings, no other handwriting, no bookplates. Pages are toned due to age and foxing is present throughout along with a couple small creases for the corners were folded over at one time. Hardcover, red cloth boards show minor spotting and handling wear, exterior page edges also show some spotting, particularly along the top. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight. There are no signatures or bookplates, no handwriting, no library markings, nothing torn or loose or marked up. Pages are toned due to age but are overall clean although the end pages and pastedowns show foxing around the edges which can also be seen to a lesser degree on the last index page.

Columbus, OH: Ohio State University, 1930. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fair-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, Black cloth boards with gilt to front and spine. Exterior is in very rough shape with dampstains to both boards and spine, front board also has damage to center which feels like it may be from glue. Corners and edges also show bumps/wear. Spite the rough exterior interior text pages are good, though hinge is cracked at rear board and title page. Pages are toned due to age scattered foxing in smudge marks are present. Inscribed and signed by W. W. Charters on the first end page where he presented the book in appreciation to M. Salsbury: "To M. Salisbury, With appreciation of the help you gave in making the Institute a success. Very cordially yours, W. W. Charters - January 1931". Front end page shows very faint evidence of something once written in red pencil, possibly a name, but it has been erased. 1922 printing.
