Finland: Trinty Production, 1950. 1st Edition . No Binding. Fine. An original and extremely rare Finnish A2 one-sheet film poster for the Documentary Film "Savage Africa" a.k.a. "Congolaise" from 1950. Commissioned by the French Government originally to make a record of the native tribes in French Equatorial Africa, it was controversially edited to present as an exhibition of female nudity and gorilla hunting. As such, possibly one of the very first Blaxploitation movies ever. The film was screened for the first time in Finland in November 1950 and there were no further theatrical releases following its initial run. The poster is an offset print made by Kartapalvelu Oy of Finland, dated 1950 and with the artist's (printed) signature at the right about midway. Measures 23.5" x 16" approx. Pinholes to each of the corners, some minor creasing at the edges in places but overall in outstanding condition, as a cinema-used item it has to be Near Mint. A superb example… Leer más

Paris: Maeght Editeur, 1975. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Soft cover. Fine. A very nice complete copy of DLM 212 with 8 lithographs (including the covers) by Alexander Calder. Published in Paris by Maeght, 1975. Loose signatures in wrappers as issued, 24 pages. Contents in Fine condition, free from spotting, foxing etc. No stains or finger-marking - a very clean and bright copy, the colours are vivid and goregeous. One minor fault - there is a very small pinch at the spine/fold which carries through to the same place at all of the signatures - unsure whether it is a sign of a "bump" or some kind of production fault. otherwise, a Fine example.

Finland: KG Divina Film, 1958. 1st Edition . No Binding. Fine. First Printing. A vintage, original, Finnish cinema poster for the first screening in Finland of the German, Oscar-nominated terror movie, THE DEVIL STRIKES AT NIGHT. The film was first screened in Finland in 1958 with no further theatrical runs. A stunning example of cinema advertising art, this poster is in Fine, vibrant condition, approximate size is 23.5 inches by 15.7 inches, standard Finnish A2 format. SIGNS OF USE: no pinholes to the corners but rather two tape residue marks to the upper margin (picture not affected). Fold-line to middle, a couple of minor scrapes to the upper right corner which has resulted in tiny loss of colour but otherwise in outstanding condition, FINE. Signed in the plate by the prolific film poster artist, Engel. For the best appreciation of condition please study the accompanying photograph which is high resolution.

Accompanied by a publisher's signing sheet which has been signed by Brian May and his co-authors. In the publisher's original shrinkwrap, neither volume has been opened or handled since production and therefore As New condition.

A vintage, original, Finnish cinema poster for the first screening in Finland (October 1967) of the classic Robert Aldrich film, The Dirty Dozen, starring Lee Marvin. A folded poster in VG condition, approximate size is 24 inches by 16 inches, standard Finnish A2 format. SIGNS OF USE: 2-inch tear at the top right edge. Pinholes at corners. Traces of tri-folding and around these are secondary creases. Minor scrapes to the black titles. At the verso there are a couple of ink-splash type stains. One of these shows through (at the letter "L" in "Jaeckel"). Notwithstanding these faults the poster still presents very well and will look superb under glass. For best appreciation of condition, please examine the high-resolution image which accompanies this listing.

An excellent, cinema-used Finnish A2 lobby poster for the 1967 Matt Helm movie, THE AMBUSHERS starring Dean Martin This particular poster is a standard size 60cm x 40cm approx. CONDITION: C8/9 It is in Very Fine used condition. A rolled poster. Minor clamp marks to extreme edges. The most minor of handling creases. No nicks to the edges, no tears, no loss of paper. Exceptionally clean and bright. A very nice example of vintage movie advertising art and design in outstanding condition.

The film was first screened in Finland in 1967 with no further theatrical releases. This poster is not a re-issue or a modern reproduction and nor is it Video/DVD-related. The "small" standard vintage Finnish film poster is the most common and collected version and approximates in size to the German or Hungarian A2. Sizes do vary very slightly depending on the printers involved and the era. Stylistically, vintage Finnish movie posters rarely reproduce the same art-work from the original studios' publicity material. Older films were usually re-named in Finnish (and Swedish below) but nearly always referenced the original title of the movie somewhere in the presentation. This poster measures 24" x 16.5" approx. An excellent, cinema-used, first screening poster for the 1956 British crime thriller EYEWITNESS, starring Donald Sinden, Muriel Pavlow and Belinda Lee. The film had only the one theatrical release in Finland, premiering on March 8, 1957. This particular poster is 16 inches by 23 inches approx. Printed by Duplicator Oy without artist signature. Condition: C7/Very Good - with staple holes at the corners. A folded poster with crease-line across the middle. Minor edge-wear to bottom edge.
