Elmer George, Tommy Hinnershitz, Ed Elisian , and Joe Barzda, with 2 more signatures too faint for me to decipher. SIGNED in ink front cover by Foyt, George, Sachs, and Hinnershitz, in pencil ( right margin) by Barzda, at rear cover in ink by Ed Elisian, and at his photo on page 7 in ink again by George. A.J. Foyt- the first 4-time winner of the Indy 500, a true racing legend. Eddie Sachs- known as the "Clown Prince of Auto Racing", who was killed in the 1964 Indy 500 won by Foyt, Elmer George- who retired from racing in 1963 and then served as vice-president of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Tommy Hinnershitz, "The Flying Dutchman" one of the most popular sprint-car drivers in racing history. Fine, prior owner name and 1/72 front paste down, hidden by front flap, in a Very Good Plus dust jacket, front flap price-clipped, light rubbing, 2 small closed tears bottom edge front panel. Torres was light heavyweight champion in 1965, President of the WBO from 1990-1995, and a member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame, with a career record of 49-3-1. Gottingen, Germany : Gottinger Automobil - Club, 1927. RARE TLS from Ernst H. Diepholz, Generalvertreter fur Deutschland, B.S.A Motor Bicycles, under his company letterhead, dated 24th Nov., 1927, to British motorcycle racer R.E. Atkinson. Herr Diepholz begins the letter by congratulating Atkinson on his win at that year's Hainberg Rennen ( Atkinson was the winner of the Class B 350ccm race). He then goes on to inform him that B.S.A. is sending him "some spares for your machine free of charge". And concludes by offering to give Atkinson "a special 350 ccm BSA Super Sport motorcycle" should he be willing to enter "the Grand Prix of Europe for motorcycles (which) takes place on the Nurnberg Ring near Cologne on the 2nd or 3rd of July". Those races in 1928 would have marked the 2nd year of racing at Nurburgring ( if they were held- I am unable to find any information on motorcycle races winners, etc.).
