A volume on nautical commerce by the author of such titles as History of the American Privateer and Coggeshall's Voyages. Coggeshall was one of the most renowned nautical historians of the 19th century, covering all elements of ocean travel and commerce from ancient times to modern.

1940. Hardcover. Very good. 11 x 20 cm unpaginated log book. 48 of 72 pages filled in. Leather book with gold print. Aircraftsman Second Class Dick Milne was killed October 19, 1940, age 20, while serving with the RCAF north of Toronto. He died during a practice "dogfight" while training to become an instructor. Although Milne was an excellent pilot with two years experience, he made the mistake of looking over his shoulder for the other plane and failed to notice a tall tree in the centre of a grain field. He is buried in his native North Bay, Ontario.
