Very good. - An original 12-1/4 inch high by 9-1/8 inch wide broadside handsomely printed in black on cream paper bestowing honorary membership to small pressman Fridolf Johnson. Preceded by an attractive wood engraving of a hand holding a rose by John DePol, the printed text reads "Know All Men that the Chapel of Pickering Press (after prolonged examination and consideration) has elected to Honorary Membership: Fridolf Johnson Effective 1 November 1958 Address all correspondence to the Home Office Dues Payable in Advance". Fridolf Johnson's name was penned in ink in an attractive calligraphic hand. There is creasing to the edges and top corners with some spotting to the bottom of the page and s small ink mark at bottom left. Very good. The book designer, typographer and printer John Anderson (1915-1997) was inspired by the activities of the aviation pioneers, the Wright Brothers, who ran a printing press. Mount Vernon, NY: Peter Pauper Press, 1937.. 1937.. Very good. - Octavo, decorative paper covered boards backed with dark pink cloth with a printed paper label on the spine. The book is housed in a gray paper covered slipcase. The spine is sunned & the label is somewhat darkened with the left side slightly chipped. The slipcase is darkened with short tears to the front corners. 68 pages plus colophon. Decorated with vignettes in orange by Thomas Stothard. The book has a very slight musty odor, else very good in a good slipcase. <p>Limited edition of 1,450 copies.

North Hills, PA: Bird & Bull Press, 1970.. 1970.. Very good. - Folio, 12-1/2 inches high by 8 inches wide. Softcovers bound in cord stitched cream paper wraps titled in facsimile holograph on the front cover. The book is laid into a plain light blue paper chemise. The extremities of the chemise are faded and darkened. 52 & [2] pages, consisting of the facsimile of the holograph minutes of the meeting followed by 2-pages of finely printed notes and comments in which J. Barcham Green, whose grandfather was present at the meeting and who still owns the mill at Maidstone, sheds light on some of the practices of the vat paper making industry as it was practiced then and now. Near fine in a very good chemise. <p>Limited edition of 300 copies printed by the Bird & Bull Press.

There is light soiling & spotting to the covers & the spine is darkened. xiv & 165 pages plus colophon with the text printed within decorative frames in black. The gilt on the top edge is faded. The endpapers are darkened & there is an owner's blind stamp on the title. Engraved title & 2 copperplate vignettes by Stephen Gooden. Very good. <p>Limited edition of 1,550 numbered copies.

Very good. - Small quarto [6-1/2 inches high by 5-1/2 inches wide], soft cover bound in silver & light green striped stiff paper wraps with a printed label on the spine. The fragile paper is lightly chipped along the rear joint. 79 pages deckle-edged pages, including the colophon. Illustrated with color plates by Keith Achepohl. Very good. <p>Of a limited ediiton of 470 copies, this is number 319.<p>The book was printed on Wookey Hole paper and the plates were etched and engraved by the artist.

The top front corners of both covers are creased. 49 & [9] pages printed in the Italian Cloister Script on Azure laid paper made in Tasmania. The printer's device decorates the first leaf. Very good. <p>Of a stated signed limited edition of 1,000 numbered copies, it is sthought that only about 300 copies were actually printed. Signed by Albin Eiger with his initials.

New York: The Marchbanks Press, 1928., 1928.. Very good. - A 17-3/8 inch high by 13 inch wide broadside with a color print (probably a wood engraving) by Harry Cimino illustrating the top three-quarters of the sheet. The image, in green, yellow, orange, brown and blue, portrays a farmer tilling his field with a horse drawn plow. Trees and bushes frame the fence in the foreground and the house and barns are depicted in the middle of the fields in the background. Harry Cimino's initials "HC" are printed within the image at bottom right. The broadside is attractively captioned "Spring 1928 / The Marchbanks Press / 114 East 13th Street, New York" along the bottom. The edges and corners are lightly creased and darkened with some tiny minor spots to the bottom right corner. Very good. Born in Marion, Indiana, the artist Harry Cimino (1898-1969) illustrated the 1928 Marchbanks Press calendar. Cimino passed away in Sharon, Connecticut in 1969.

The head & tail of the spine & the extremities of the covers are rubbed & the label is chipped. 41 pages plus colophon. Illustrated with a black-and-white portrait of Stephen Crane from a wood engraving by Rudolph Ruzicka. There is a previous owner's name penciled on the front endpaper. The contents are very good. Good. <p>Number 41 of a limited edition of 250 numbered copies printed by D. B. Updike for the Carteret Book Club at the Merrymount Press in May 1923.<p> In his introductory note, John Cotton Dana writes that the text is an address given by Thomas L. Raymond to the Newark Schoolmen's Club on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of Stephen Crane's birth and the unveiling of a tablet inscribed to his memory. The address was issued as an appreciation of the man and his work rather than a formal biographical essay.

Very good. <p>Limited edition of 761 numbered copies printed by the Pynson Printers, signed by the author H.M. Tomlinson on the colophon page. This copy is additionally signed by the artist Zhenya Gay under the frontispiece.

The binding is lightly rubbed & bumped with a tiny scratch to the cloth of the front cover & creasing to the bottom corner of the rear cover. lxxxviii pages plus colophon, unopened. There is an owner's bookplate tipped onto the front pastedown. The book is lightly cracked at page lvi and the rear endpaper & pastedown are darkened with a small stain to the bottom edge of the endpaper. There is damage to the bottom corner of the rear pastedown with the cloth creased & small pieces out of the paper & out of the bottom edges of 3 rear leaves. Despite its flaws, the contents of the book, with Ricketts' elaborate floral decorations, are bright & very attractive. In the original glassine dust wrapper and a light green slipcase titled in black on its spine. The slipcase is slightly soiled with a black crayon stain to the case's rear panel. Webb then launches into a poignant description of the terrible financial difficulties facing the press: "...We went broke doing a few books from going overboard on format, and now hope only from the Miller book to get a press to replace the one we've got which has done its last job. / We need an angel, and we know one will pop up eventually, but we need one now. This beautifully crafted souvenir book is in fine condition. <p>Limited edition of twenty-five printer's proofs.<p>The book label of Kenneth G. Vorhees, Jr., President and CEO of the company is mounted on the front pastedown with "Printer's Proof", "22 May '94" and "5/25" penned in ink on the label. To the right of the label is an illegible inscription, possibly signed by Kenneth Vorhees.<p>Ungerer & Company is a firm "dedicated to the production and processing of quality essential oils, oleoresins and aroma chemicals."

The contents are very good. <p>Inscribed by the printer on the front endpaper: "With all the good wishes in the world for Amy Douglas from the translator, the actor and the printer of this play. T. M. Cleland." Cleland's name appears in the printed cast list of the play.
