New York/London: The Studio Limited, 1928. First Paper Edition . Oversize Paper. Wonderful large book of ads, posters and commercial design done at the height of the Art Deco period. There are some pages missing and the back cover is also missing. Front cover with deco artwork printed in yellow and red is detached. Illustrated with 100's of bold black and white ads and more including many small color repros and some full page tipped in color plates. Although there is wear the insides are vg. and although there are a few pages missing, there is enough great stuff that makes this a bargain for research. About vg. Condition noted and sold as is.

Technical book on the early days of high fidelity sound with chapters on sound, hearing, sound in history, loudspeakers, and more.. Well illustrated with 100's of photos, drawings and diagrams. Tiny tear to the top edge of the back panel of the dustjacket, otherwise fine/near fine.

San Francisco: City Lights Books, 1988. First city Lights Edition . Paper. Fine. Bold black and white woodcuts by Masereel tell the story without any words, nor are any needed. Long intro. by Thomas Mann. Faint small corner crease to the front cover, otherwise a fine copy of a beautiful book. Fine.

Marvelous book of Kesey's journals that he kept when he was serving time in 1967for marijuana possession. The book is illustrated with many of his drawings and collages in full color from his jounrnals along with written entries. Fine/fine.

London: Merrell Holberton, 1998. First Edition . Oversize Paper. TEXT IN ENGLISH AND FRENCH. Large beautiful book created by the famous director that is as complex and compelling as his films. Greenaway incoporates people from the town of Strasbourg who agreed to pose nude for him into beautiful full color collages and images that represent various themes, myths and characters that have fascinated mankind. Includes detailed notes on all of the allegories by Greenaway along with intro by him. There is a minute mended tear to the top edge of the spine and front cover otherwise the book is vg+. A feast for the eye and mind.

Wonderful array of 100's examples of Italian design including ads, posters, packaging exhibition design and more. Illustrated with mnay full color illustrations. The book is lacking the dustjacket and there is a slight slant, otherwise the book itself is vg and a great look at high 50's European design.

Lacking the Dj.. 24 good looking art deco like illustrations that face pages of text which herald the modern age and the greatness of America with short pieces on the greatness of f Electricity, Advertising, Skyscrapers, Radio, The Department Store, Commercialism, Air Conquest, Science, Modern Art, and one disturbing page on Jews which smacks of Anti-Semitism "Even the sacred edifices of banking and sacrosanct mysteries of wall street have been penetrated with a joyous zest he invades the dwelling places of the elect" Lacking the rare dustjacket. The Blue illustrated boards are in very nice condition with a touch of wear to the tip on the bottom cover, and rubbing to the spine. Also the usual tonning to the paper, but the book itself is nice, clean (in terms of the images). Near fine.

Collection of poems both old and new including Ginsberg's masterpiece "Howl" with color and black and white artwork by Eric Drooker. The work from this book was used in the animation sequences in the 2010 film "Howl" Light wear to the front cover including a very faint hard to see dent that is lightly mirrored to the first few pages, there is also a tiny corner dent to the bottom of the back cover. MA./Seattle: Kitchen Sink/Fantagraphics, 1995. First Printings . Paper. Set in the suburbs of Seattle during the mid-1970s, the comics follow a group of mostly middle class teenagers who, over the summer, contract a mysterious sexually transmitted disease known as "the Bug" or "the teen plague", which causes them to develop bizarre unique physical mutations, turning them into social outcasts. It was published as a 12-issue comic book limited series between 1995 and 2004. The first four issues were released by Kitchen Sink Press; after Kitchen Sink went out of business, Fantagraphics republished the first four issues and the remaining eight. A compiled hardcover volume was released by Pantheon Books in 2005. This collected edition, however, lacks many pages that were included in the first publication- the ones that showed some characters' faces. These pages are considered by some critics to be essential. Illustrated in full color with lavish displays of posters and lots of interesting background material including historical photos of movie theatres along with text on the studios, stars and the artists who created these great posters. Nearly 350 pgs. of oversize art printed on heavy stock paper, also includes short illustrators biographies. This is a fine pristine copy in a fine pristine dustjacket, the book is a big as its subject and because of the weight and size additional postage will be necessary. Fine/fine.

Illustrated with 8 color plates and 170 small black and white illustrations throughout the book. Rubbing to the spine has removed the gold lettering. His artwork is quite marvelous. Bookplate to the front pastedown.

Very rare book that is a poem by the important French filmmaker Jean Epstein on cinema with amazing illustrations using text, photographs and drawings in a strong Art Deco style by Claude Dalbanne and designed as a movie. Includes the original paper wrap around band that is laid in the book. As fine a copy one could hope for.
