Small 8vo (6 1/8 x 3 1/2 inches) 190-pages plus 2-page advertisements at end. Contemporary full tan calf, spine gilt in compartments, unlettered. Chip out of base of spine, some loss of surface to lower board, lower inner joint split. Piece torn from base of page79/80 with loss of 1 1/8 inch affecting some text. Uncommon.

Edinburgh: for Waugh and Innes, 1830. This is actually the 3rd volume of the history although not so stated on the title; the first two volumes having been published in 1817. 8vo (8 x 5 1/4 inches), 384-pages. Original cloth backed boards with printed paper label. Binding rubbed & dusty, label browned and a little chipped, two bookplates on front pastedown. Lacking all before title (i.e. front free endpaper and half-title). Numerous contemporary corrections and alterations throughout in ink; perhaps by the author? This volume has an appendix containing an account of different institutions connected with the university; the Anatomical Museum, Lying-in Hospital, etc. Rare.

London: Warrick & Bird, 1920. The Essentials of England's History told in Rhyme. 48 illustrations. 4to (9 3/4 x 7 1/4 inches), 24-pages, original coloured pictorial wrappers. Published at 3d. Seemingly sponsored by "Iron Jelloids" as advertisements for this tonic for men appear throughout. Vertical central fold else good.

T. Fellows, London, 1860. 8vo (8 3/4 x 5 1/2 inches), 315-pages. Contemporary full tan fine pebble grain calf, sides ruled in gilt with corner ornaments. Spine gilt in compartments and gilt lettered direct. Boards marked else good.

Paris: Pierre Roger, n.d. Plates. 4to, pp.266, quarter black morocco, spine gilt ruled on raised bands, marbled boards. In very good condition.

The first edition of her first book. 8vo (7 1/2 x 4 3/8 inches), 324-pages plus extensive unpaginated index. Contemporary half calf over marbled boards, spine gilt in compartments and gilt lettered direct. Headbands a little worn, corners rubbed else very good and very clean internally. Bound without a half-title. Inscribed on front pastedown by Robert Benson and dated 1823 giving the provenance of this volume: "This translation was made by Miss Gurney of Norwich and as the preface expresses it was printed merely for the private gratuitous circulation. For ths copy I am indebted to the kindness of my valued friend C.G.Young Esq. York Herald, Jan. 23".
