Frontispiece with tissue guard, plates, folding map. 8vo (9 3/4 x 6 inches), pages: xii:293:18 (adverts), original brown cloth blocked in gilt. Ex Mudie's Library with their yellow label on upper cover (no other library marking); binding tired, joints split, bumped and dusty. Folding map with short tear (no loss) and creased on one fold. Internally generally very good and unmarked.

Original brown cloth pictorially blocked in black and gilt. 2 square inch ink mark on upper cover else the binding attractive. Lacking front free endpaper, inked number on front pastedown. Text block detached from binding, a number of upper blank fore-corners bumped/turned over.

Title vignettes, 9 plates (of which 8 coloured) and two folding maps (of which 1 coloured). 8vo (7 3/4 x 54 3/4 inches), pages: xvi:374 & vii:384, contemporary full calf, spines gilt with double lettering pieces, gilt crest to upper boards & Harrow prize label on front pastedown of vol.1; bindings very rubbed and scuffed, upper joints cracked, lettering pieces chipped. Endpapers foxed, some foxing to frontispieces but largely noticeable to the reverse, some light age toning to the margins, a few creases to the maps where incorrectly folded but no tears; overall internally good.

Hakluyt Society, London, 2000. Coloured frontispiece, plates. Large 8vo (10 x 7 inches), original dark blue cloth blocked in gilt. Fine in very good dust jacket which is however faded at the backstrip, Weight 1.2 kg thus extra overseas postage will be requested.

Label of the "Beauport Lending Library 1856" on front pastedown, no other markings. Internally very good and clean.

for J. Knapton, London 1731. Part 2 1732. 8vo (7 x 4 1/8 inches). Both parts unpaginated( but ca. 500-pages in total). Contemporary full dark polished calf, spine gilt within raised bands, burgundy lettering piece. Base of spine very chipped, upper fore-corner of upper cover gnawed away. Early inscriptions on front endpapers, signature on title and ink marks and a crease. Lower and upper damp tide mark to the first 10 leaves.

Wrappers of both works retained.

All edges gilt. Prize inscription on front fly.. Some foxing. Inner hinges split thus the text block has detached from the binding; otherwise the binding in excellent condition.
