The title page is illustrated with a black & flame-colored image of a rampaging elephant & its young, along with a black-and-white portrait of Frank Buck. The two center pages promote Buck's thrilling jungle stories of encountering and capturing dangerous wild animals with a border of black-and-white sketches of more animals on the attack, as well as native hunters. An account of Buck's career, a list of the animals he has captured and some tributes are included on the fourth page. There is a stain on page 3 & two small lighter stains on page 4. The brochure has been folded twice. Very good Frank Howard Buck [1884-1950] was an American hunter, animal collector and author, as well as a film actor, director and producer. The top page corners are creased & there is a small stain to the fore-edge. Good. <p>Among the contents of this issue are "Le Concours Hippique de Paris", "Les Courses Militaires", "Etrier Belge" and "L'Exposition Canine de Paris". The text is in French.

The text block is shaken and nearly disbound. Fair working copy, well worth binding. <p>Scarce first edition.<p>The last chapter of the text, which is in Italian, is about cowboys riding bulls and horses.

The front hinge is cracked opposite the title page. A previous owner's name is penned on the verso of the frontispiece. The pages are soiled and stained along the margins. Good. The front cover is detached. xvi and 440 deckle-edged pages, illustrated with an engraved frontispiece depicting Belvoir Castle. The endpapers and pastedowns are foxed and the bottom edge of the book is slightly stained. Good.

Illustrated in black & white with tables & textual vignettes There is the faded ink name of a previous owner on the front endpaper with offsetting to the verso and on page [9] with offsetting to the verso and the following page. The bottom corners of a few rear pages are slightly bumped with 1 chipped & creased. Very good in a fair dust jacket. First edition.Very scarce in the dust wrapper.

The half-title is darkened and several page corners are creased. An early book seller's label is mounted at the bottom of the rear pastedown and there is a tiny slit to the bottom of the rear hinge. The pages are slightly darkened, there is a small chip to the front edge of a few leaves and the top edges of a few plates are slightly wrinkled. Good. <p>Third printing of this work on the British hunt. Includes depictions of fox hunting, horses and hounds.
