This volume forms most of the KENT Volume, but 'Kent' started athe end of Vol. VII which forms Hertfordshire, Huntingdonshire, and the first part of Kent. The Volume is bound in full leather with 5 raised bands, Gilt titling on 2 labels and gilt decoration to each compartment. Probably contemporary or near contemporary bindings. The spine has some flaws/damage, splitting to the edges of the spine - the front board is only holding on by one 'string'. Some small chipping with a tiny loss to the head/tail of the spine, but rear hinges holding despite some splits and overall an attractive book. ALL Edges Marbled. This copy has been re-spined at some point in the distant past, and although the boards are a (presumed) contemporary full tree calf, the re-spining is in a heavy tan 'buckram' with a large, but attractive, leather Title label in dark burgungy with bright gilt titling and decoration. The covers are somewhat worn and scratched, with the corners and some edges of the book scraped through to the board, but it is solid, tight and all hinges are secure.
