The first session included stamps from: German Colonies and German Offices Abroad, German Old States, Germany, Empire, Federal, Republic, Berlin, SAAR. The second session included stamps from France, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Israel, Iceland, Luxembourg, Marienwerder-Monaco, Netherlands, Nicaragua-Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Ryukyu-Sweden, Switzerland, Syria-Turkey, Ukraine, Uruguay, Vatican City, Venezuela, Western Ukraine. Interior - small soft bump to top corner of pages, faint cigarette odour, minor browning to pages, otherwise clean and tight with no previous ownership marks. Exterior - small soft bump to top corner of covers, light rubbing, minor soiling, minor browning.. Stapled in Wraps. Very Good.

A handful of light penciled lines in margins, and slightly bumped top corners of covers. Book examines how mail transmission affected literature, mainly in Europe.

Except for lightly penciled purchase info, the book is in perfect shape.

Traces the enactment of rules, enforced through the Post Office, that required periodicals attest to their circulation figures, label ads that might be mistaken for editorial content, and publish statements identifying owners--all Progressive Era goals. Like new--no marks.

Toronto: Unitrade, 1985. Unpaginated (approx. 14pp.), 9" H. B&w illustrations. "In December of 1866 a peculiar 10 cent 'Prince Edward Island' stamp made its appearance in Europe. It was without perforations, printed in black on yellow paper, and the name of the country was misspelled. Those who saw the stamp said that it had 'an unreal look' about it."
