A Very Good- copy of the first edition, first printing, first issue with the required typographical error to page 7, bound in the Publisher's original light blue cloth with some soiling to the cloth and quite light rubbing to the spine ends and leading corners and with foxing to the closed page block's edges. The volume is wearing the Publisher's first issue dust jacket with the front flap showing the price of 10s 6d. The jacket shows toning and a small spot of soil to the spine panel, general fading, and minor wear and tear to the spine ends and leading corners, and the book shows light rubbing to the spine ends and leading corners and bubbling to the rear pane.

A Near Fine or better copy of "Kafir Land" written by Anthony Trollope and set in South Africa, apparrently excerpted from Volume 23 of the Fortnightly Review, a monthly periodical of Literature founded by Trollope with others in 1865. Trollope was, as best we cam determine, was the only eminent Victorian to visit all of England's Colonies existing when he was alive.

A Very Good copy of this reprint edition (binding a bit askew, some general wear and marking) in a Good example of the dust jacket (general wear and chips and tears) with a mention of the dust jacket's front panel that the Photoplay edition is titled "RIDERS OF THE DAWN". The volume contains a frontispiece and two additional illustrations by W. H. D. Koerner, two of which are bound opposite text pages different from those specified in the table of Illustations. Born in Chicago, Vliet, a critically-praised Poet, novelist, playwright, and short story writer known particularly for his works set in Texas. This novel, set in the 1830s, centers around a young girl captured my Mexican bandits during the time that the area now known as Texas was a part of Mexico.

Per Wikipedia: "George Melville Baker was a playwright and publisher in Boston, Massachusetts, in the 19th century. He worked for Lee & Shepard publishers, then opened his own imprint. "George M. Baker & Co." issued works by authors such as Henry M. Baker, F.E. Chase, and Herbert Pelham Curtis."

A not quite Very Good copy of this later edition, bound in brown leather with the spine lined, lettered, and decorated in gilt and each board lined and decorated in gilt, complete with eight (8) illustrations by Phiz and with a prior seller's note loosely laid in and stating, among other things, that this 1899 first edition was issued in both dated and undated copies. The boards are worn and show general wear and tide marks, the leaves some some scattered tide marks, a few marginal chips, and a repair to the upper outer corner of the leave hosting pp 121/122. Each pastedown bears a bookplate with the one to the front pastedown shows a Latin motto above which is a deer above which a knight and the rear bookplate, also illustrated, bears the name of book collector William Crampton. A Very Good copy of the second American edition, first printing -- being the first revised edition (some wear to the spine ends and tiny rubs to the leading board corners) in a Very Good dust jacket (with some general wear, toning, tiny ink insertion in the title immediately prior to "Becket", small stain to the front panel at the "D" in "MURDER"); a dramatization of the murder of Thomas Becket at Canterbury; an act which nearly cost Henry II the English Throne. In this second edition, Eliot deleted the dialogue of the three Priests which had appeared at the beginning of Part II and replaced it with a speech by the Chorus. These changes brought the text into conformity with a then-recent production of the Play at the Mercury Theatre in London. T. S. Eliot won the 1948 Nobel Prize in Literature.

A Very Good + or better copy of the first edition of this 1678 work (originally titled "The Rime of the Ancyent Marinere) published by The Peter Pauper Press set in Baskerville types on Gilpin paper and housed in its original slipcase which shows some soiling and splitting. Of this famed Poet, Wikipedia states: "Samuel Taylor Coleridge (/ ko l r d / KOH-l -rij;[1] 21 October 1772 25 July 1834) was an English poet, literary critic, philosopher, and theologian who, with his friend William Wordsworth, was a founder of the Romantic Movement in England and a member of the Lake Poets. He also shared volumes and collaborated with Charles Lamb, Robert Southey, and Charles Lloyd." Notably, the work was the author's longest major Poem, and was first published in 1798 in the first edition of "Lyrical Ballads" by Wordsworth and Coleridge.
