From a total edition of 135, this copy one of 85 copies that were bound in a cover of Japanese cotton over boards and housed in a linen slipcase; of these copies numbered 31-90 were offered for sale; this copy not numbered but reserved for the press and lettered K, signed by Baskin and Fowles on the colophon. 101 pp.; folio; both the Lawrence text and the Fowles commentary are composed in the Bembo types and printed, with the nine Baskin blocks, by letterpress on mould-formed English Somerset paper. Includes prospectus, also The Making of the Book, with photographs of printer Aaron Johnson, binder Rene Menge, Baskin, Fowles, and Michael Gidron working on the box. In his final novel, published less than a year before his death, Lawrence takes up the theme of Christ's resurrection and his final days on earth. Unpaged; (98) pp.; 5' x 8 1/2"; plain red cloth over boards; tan endpapers; hand-drawn and colored drawings on each page (you can feel the ink on the paper's surface). Designed in the form of a flip book, which format Deitch had used in 1967 with "Nudnik, the cut finger fumble", published by Cinémathèque Canadienne occasion of the World Retrospective of Animation Cinema as part of Expo 67. This work appears to have never been published in book form, but was produced as a film. The book appears to be unique, bound as a 'pitch bible' for The Giants. There are several pastedown replacements/edits on pages form textual parts, to half, to whole page. It appears that some leaves, are actually two pages stuck together, as another way of removing or editing parts, or reusing the back side of a page to redraw a part. Spine & corners rubbed; front joint split top and bottom 2"; bit of bubbling to rear cloth; toning to endpapers and pastedowns at edges; hinges cracked but cords holding firm; dampstain to rear pastedown, and lower portion of text pages at gutters, 1.5" up the inside, receding in size to about p.182 then disappearing. Binding somewhat stressed at p. 166 causing the gathering of two pages of ads there to spring a bit but still intact. Ownership name C. V. Welch in pen front pastedown. Overall the binding is solid and the ads and text pages are clean. ; Half brown leather, and pebbled black cloth over boards, lettered and ruled in gilt. There is offset from images to facing text pages, most obvious opposite the first 6 plates. Rubbing and wear to corners and edges with some wear through to boards at corner tips and front edges. Bottom and middle panel of spine leather with shadow of library labels; front pastedown shows stain and scuffing from plate removal. No other library marks or stamps; rear pastedown with a scuff and vertical 7"X3" area of tanning with offset to rear endpaper likely from library pocket. Save for the offset to some plates and facing pages, interior text pages and plates very clean. Binding tight. ; Contemporary red half-morocco, lettered & ruled in gilt and marbled paper over boards. Rubbing and moderate wear at edges and spine with minute loss at crown; joints appear to have had some expert repair in the past; title gilt on third panel for the most part effaced; dark "burned" spot bottom front edge. Tanning to endpapers at edges, but title and text pages exceptionally clean in a solid binding. Elliott, Grass Valley, Nevada County, California," in pencil front endpaper; rough sketch of a map in pencil back pastedown showing east coast states near and including New York; leading bottom corner tip of text block a bit chewed. Overall binding is solid and the bulk of the text relatively clean. Appears to be rare in the original. Without music: tunes for part of the songs indicated by title. .

Soil, some spotting to covers; soil to foredge. ; viii, 40 pp. , frontis; printed grey wrappers; two plate iillustrations. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; Henry Petty Fitzmaurice, (1780 – 1863) , known as Lord Henry Petty from 1784 to 1809, was a British statesman. In a ministerial career spanning nearly half a century, he notably served as Home Secretary and Chancellor of the Exchequer and was three times Lord President of the Council. Active in Whig politics, he consistently championed the cause of Catholic Emancipation, and yet also sympathized with advocates for the abolition of slavery which the church had practiced for centuries. He was also a proponent of Popular Education. Here, after an engaging preface promising to 'box the ears' of the body politic, Fitzmaurice pens a satirical poem depicting the seven day arrival of a comet and its effect on activities and hypocricies of that body in the face of certain doom.… Leer más
