Rubbing to board edges, with some stains visible to boards. Spine darkened. Leather splitting at bottom of front joint, with a small chip at tail of spine. Very good overall.

First two, RECUEIL DES MONUMENS LES PLUS INTERESSANS DU MUSEE ROYAL-BOURBON ET DE PLUSIEURS par Raphael Gargiulo, second edition, Naples, 1845. 200 plates total (100 per volume). Contemporary cloth-covered boards, rebacked with black morocco spine label and new endpapers. x, 465 pp. Ex-library, but the only markings are two discreet stamps to the verso of the title page. Pullouts intact at rear. Rubbing to spine and corners. Old ink note ("A3") to title page. A few minute instances of foxing but generally clean throughout. Very good.

Johannis Ludovici Neuehahus, 1670. Hardcover. Very Good. Second edition. Three volumes bound as one. 20 cm. Folio. Professionally rebound in full speckled calf. Five raised bands. Compartments decorated in blind-stamp. Red calf label, gilt title. Blind-stamped double bands on covers. Engraved frontispiece. This volume also includes a third part that was published in 1672. Text in Latin and German. Some sections are only in Latin, other only in German, and still others include parallel texts. Heavy damp stains to fore edge through pp. 100, to corners throughout entire volume. Uneven toning - some signatures are still very bright, others have toned to brown. Light to moderate bleed-through, and some offsetting. Light foxing throughout. Overall, a good plus copy in a fine binding, but rare in any edition. 1670, 1672

Volumes II and III with additional glassine wrappers. Wraps lightly sunned at spines. Volume I with slight bumping to corners. Glassine chipped at top edge in volume III. Slipcases splitting at edges. Books near fine.

Light bleedthrough to versos of plates, some light soiling at fore-edges. Most of rear board discolored, with some discoloration to the rear joint as well. Except as noted very good. The 1651 edition of the work was the first printed edition of Gulistan and was bilingual.

Recently rebound in quarter black morocco over green cloth-covered boards, original covers bound in at rear. B/w illustrations. Some light toning to page edges, else very good plus in a near fine recent binding. An essential reference for opera in Boston during the years covered. Even single issues are scarce.

Some light rubbing to head, heel, and corners of volumes. Jackets all with light wear to edges, as well as some rubbing and small chips to head, heel, and corners. Jackets of volumes 2 and 5 with some spotting to backstrips and edges. Some light spotting to page edges of volumes 2, 3, and 5. Overall very good in very good jackets.

Text in German. 65 additional b/w illustrations in the text. Some superficial shelfwear, with a very slight warp to the wraps volume. Leather spine label to the portfolio with a touch of wear to the edge. Very good plus.

Light toning to page edges, with some small stains to fore-edges. Endpapers with toning and foxing. Very good minus, no jacket.
