1893. Paperback. Good. (BOSTON) Metropolitan Park Commissioners, Board. Reports, 1893 through 1914. 22 volumes. A complete run of the first 22 reports issued by the Metropolitan Park Commisssion. Boston: Wright Potter. 8vo. Ex-library copies with call letters on spines, with the exception of the 1911 report. Heads and tails of spines of some volumes are worn. Some front hinges cracked. The 1894 report, (which is rare and was issued as a pamphlet,) and the 1910 report have been rebound in brown cloth. [This is an important chronicle of the planning and implementation of the Metropolitan Park System as envisioned by Charles Eliot. Volumes include extensive reports and maps by Eliot; Olmsted, Olmsted & Eliot, and the Olmsted Brothers.] 22 Volumes..................

Orig. coated linen cloth with leather spine label and gilt dec. leather inset on front cover. Slipcase. Signed by the author. Some remnants of scotch tape adhesive on front free end paper, otherwise a very nice copy. This is one of the 750 copies to have a fold-out color plate listing the subscribers.

Book is disbound, many pages loose including the lithographs which are edgeworn, pages browned, library stamps on title page and other pages. A very poor copy of a very rare book.

The Riverside Press, Cambridge, 1901, First edition. 12mo, pp.209, illustrated with decorations by Doris Wheeler Keith. Spine faded, some small worm holes on spine and spine creases. A woven ribbon book mark has been attached to the f.f.e.p. with sealing wax by the original owner and has foxed a strip of one the pages. A small newpaper clipping about flower names has been pasted to the front paste down end paper with a resulting rectangle of foxing offset to the f.f.e.p. [This is a very scarce work by Candace Wheeler (1827-1923), who was a needlework artist and an important member of the American Arts & Crafts movement. She founded Associated Artists with Louis Comfort Tiffany, Samuel Coleman and Lockwood de Forest.]

A very nice set, white spines lightly soiled, some very light foxing on endpapers.

Ex-library, but only evidence of such is labels that have been removed from spines resulting in rubbed patches, and names removed for ffep's with resulting erasure marks. Despite these flaws it is a nice tight set with very nice interiors.
